I’ve got UPERFECT K118 - 18”, 1440p, 144Hz few month ago. Using it now as my main (for games and work), cause i travel every month. It’s a very good option for traveller, good quality, but my previous AOC 27”, 1080p, 144Hz felt much bigger / better for me. So, i wouldn’t take it for my main home setup. I think i would take a big one monitor, when i will stay somewhere for a long time, and use UPERFECT as additional, maybe in vertical layout or with VESA hand. Well, it all comes down to your preferences, I used only a 13” MacBook for about a year and it was ok.

At this point, I no longer consider it such a good monitor. A spot of dead pixels has appeared, which is quite noticeable on a black background. The spot gets smaller when I press on the top part of the display, but it doesn't disappear completely. Regarding USB-C power: on my MacBook Air 13 M1, everything works well with one cable and maximum brightness. However, on my Desktop PC (MOBO: Asus B650E-I, tried both ports), I can only set the brightness to a maximum of 8, otherwise, the monitor restarts.

I rarely need to use my setup on battery power, but I carry a 20,000mha battery anyway, which will power it for 4 hours or so if needed, but doesn't really happen that often, EM780 is tiny but powerful and takes up next to no room. Overall, I much prefer this setup to my previous laptops and will be adding dual folding 18" screens soon, but it really depends on your use case. I am always set up for at least a day somewhere, so I don't need high portability, it would be annoying if I had to set it up multiple times per day on the go but typically I will use my galaxy fold to fill the gap. The EM780 lives inside of BMO with my cables when I'm on the go.

Both uperfect monitors I've bought in the past came in uperfect branded boxes with uperfect papers, I've always ordered direct from uperfect or from an official uperfect store. Either way, the panel quality and specs have been what I ordered, so I don't really care. The 18inch 2k has been wonderful, I only wish I could get a dual screen version of this panel.

Damn. I was heavily in the market for one of these about 5 months ago and it just didn’t exist. I bought the 18 inch ips panel from the same company. It’s not very bright. Even with additional power. I’ve adjusted, but my OLED back home has spoiled me. Maybe yours will be though!

Fantastic, thanks for posting this solution. I was searching for hours on a compatible stand for a 18" Uperfect portable monitor, and your solution fits the bill perfectly!

Been thinking about this monitor but in the 18" variant. I had an older version of this screen and sent it back as the build quality was really bad, we're talking about 3 years ago. How are they now? Also would it looks right in 1080p? Thanks

Using Uperfect portable monitor ok naman sya yung 2K/144Hz binili ko sa Amazon last year kasi may discount sa Black Friday sale 10k naging 5k nalang hahaha dahil din sa bank offers na USD din ang discount. Check out Amazon mas marami silang portable monitors na higher refresh rate at screen resolution compared to Lazada/Shopee at the similar price. Tell me if you need suggestions I'll give you some link 🫡

I wish I had the cash for one of the Duoone I instead just got a single 2k 144 monitor from Uperfect. For a quarter of the price. But it's not a nice of course.

I ended up going with this one from uperfect. It’s pretty good and honestly overkill for the ally x. If I was buying today I would probably get the 2k one instead. Both are able to run off a single usbc with no power cable I’m pretty sure https://a.co/d/0581bfI

When it comes to portable monitors I'd recommend looking out for the brightness and getting something with 400-500 nits. When I first got my first portable i did not know to look for that since most regular monitors are plenty bright. It turned out to be so dim its hardly usable in the day. The uperfect at the top of this list is a good option [https://redditrecs.com/portablemonitors/](https://redditrecs.com/portablemonitors/) It's 2k, 400 nits, and usually at a good price. The list is sorted by comments aggregated across reddit, so the fact that its currently at the top says something.

I recently [collated comments across Reddit](https://redditrecs.com) to find the ones that most people are recommending. Fwiw my wife and I have been using UPERFECT’s monitors. They’ve been good. My protip is to get one that is 400-500 nits. Avoid those that don’t list the brightness at all. I’ve wasted money on one that is too dim before

Thanks! The UPERFECT ones that me and my wife have are unfortunately no longer available (one was FHD and one was 2k) as I bought them pretty long ago, I think 2-3 years? They were both listed as 500 nits though and I found their brightness good. The FHD one was a bit brighter than the 2k I’m thinking of getting a new one soon and if I were to choose I’d probably go for that one you mentioned because of the good reviews. It’s listed as 400 nits only but hopefully they’ve improved the tech in the newer model and hopefully it would be as bright?

Make sure to get one that is bright (>400 nits or check reviews). A lot of them are unusable in daylight. I wasted money on one before. My wife and I have been using uperfect's monitors for the past 3 years while digital nomading and have been happy with them. The exact model is no longer available but i'd probably get the 2k uperfect near the top of [this list](https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/) (ranked by aggregated Reddit reviews, you can see breakdown of comments) when mine breaks. It has 400 nits and I like 2k resolution for making sure my eyes don't get tired reading blurry text.

I won’t go for 4k. It’s an overkill for portable monitors smaller than 19in. It may not be able to be powered by just a USBc from your MacBook too. What’s more important is to get one that is bright (>400 nits or check reviews). A lot of them are unusable in daylight. I wasted money on one before. My wife and I have been using uperfect's monitors for the past 3 years while digital nomading and have been happy with them. The exact model is no longer available but i'd probably get the 2k uperfect on this list based on aggregated reddit reviews https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/

I recently did an analysis on reddit data on portable monitors. If you're looking for something tried and tested i'd probably go for one of the ones at the top [https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/](https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/) A key thing to look out for is to get one that is bright (>400 nits or check reviews). You should be able to get a good one for plenty less than $1k. But make sure to get one that is bright (>400 nits or check reviews). A lot of them are unusable in daylight. I wasted money on one before. My wife and I have been using uperfect's monitors for the past 3-4 years while digital nomading and have been happy with them. I'd recommend getting one that is brighter. The one you linked is only 250cdm2 which is pretty low. I would look for something that either has >400 nits or have reviews saying its bright. A lot of portable monitors are unusable in daylight. I wasted money on one before. Unless you're always working in a dark room? FWIW my wife and I have been a digital nomad for 3 years and we've been using monitors from uperfect. We've been pretty happy with them so far. They're thin and bright and light enough to bring around. The exact models are no longer available though. But I recently did an analysis on reddit data on portable monitors, basically ranking them by aggregated sentiment - maybe you'll find the results helpful [https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/](https://redditrecs.com/portable-monitor/) I'm eyeing the 2k uperfect near the top of the list (for when my current one breaks). It has 400 nits and IME 2k resolution is the sweet spot for portable monitors. 2k is crisp enough so my eyes won't get tired reading blurry text. Anything higher is overkill for screens below 20 inches, plus you'll likely need to plug in an extra power cable. Its more expensive though so if you want something cheaper the Z1FC Arzopa at the top is on sale now on amazon i think and is at least 300cdm2 and has reviews saying its bright enough.

AFAIK Mister doesn’t support that resolution so I’ve been using 2560x1440p and monitor set to 4:3, no freesync, no HDR (I’ll try this out), with my own filter settings. Sitting next to PVM it looks very close. With the monitor at 4:3 cores are squished horizontally until you change the core’s video option from original to fullscreen.

Im probably going to buy one myself. I have the ips variant from uperfect and I love everything except for the motion ghosting, so an OLED thats basically the same otherwise is huge for me. Plus im seeing t hem for 200$ which is kindof a bargain

I used a uperfect usb c monitor for about a minute and it worked. I don't know more than that as the monitor had a fault and I'm waiting on a replacement. I'd choose on Ali express, the 16inch 120hz portable OLED or the 13 inch 1080p 60hz OLED at around £200 and £100.
