as someone who does a lot of spreadsheet work on the go, i've found 16-inch can work but has limits. the [ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC](https://metadoraffi-eng.github.io/shopit?search_keywords=ASUS+ZenScreen+MB16AC+portable+monitor) is what i use and its 1080p resolution is fine for most sheets, though you'll be scrolling more than on a larger display. honestly the bigger issue is scaling - make sure whatever you get has good resolution and adjustable stand angles. i'd also consider the [ViewSonic TD1655](https://metadoraffi-eng.github.io/shopit?search_keywords=ViewSonic+TD1655+portable+touchscreen+monitor) if you want touch capability for navigation. for heavy excel though, i sometimes pair it with my laptop screen to have two views open, which helps a lot with larger workbooks.

ran into this last year. 16 is doable but scaling will be your make or break. you want something with at least 1440p resolution if your eyes are doing sheets all day. 1080p at 16 inches makes text tiny or you scale up and lose screen real estate. i landed on the asus zenscreen mb16ac - matte finish helps with glare too. just check your laptop's usb c can deliver power over it.

Depending on the model, it might have pass-through charging, so you would need 1 USB-C for power to the monitor and a second USB-C to USB-C to connect your phone. I have a ViewSonic touchscreen monitor and it works great for DeX, plus it has passthrough charging. Edit: here is the monitor I use: https://a.co/d/04hN2Fa6

I agree with you/others! First thing on the list is a second monitor to give me three screens with my laptop and other monitor. Sit-to-stand desk Decent webcam Under desk walking pad I have two portable monitors: one wired touchscreen ([link here](https://a.co/d/7NvpTYY)) and one wireless, and I find myself reaching for my wireless one more often than not ([link here](https://a.co/d/dJcX9mo)) If you’re going to be using your laptop a decent amount away from your home base, a portable battery pack with enough juice to charge your laptop fully at least once. I also like my desktop speakers, because I don’t like wearing headphones all day and there’s no one else around in my space for it to bother. ETA: I like that my portable monitors don’t have to connect to my laptop screen because it gives me more flexibility in using it, depending on the space I have available. Also one in addition to my regular laptop screen usually gives me plenty of screen when I’m on the go, since they’re 14”/15” each.
