Depends on if you need self power or not, but you can find decent ones for under 200. The Viewsonic VA1655 has 2 way power, and an IPS panel (better brightness and color vibrancy for outdoor ... or indoor.. ) for 109.99. BEFORE buying anything i would recommend looking at multiple Different reviewers on youtube to see what people say.
So I sometimes travel with TWO portable displays on my Surface Pro 7+, [as shown here.](https://i.redd.it/lncgev92drnf1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cfc6b70264ce7dc0de231b00775bcaa3bad0422) First, this all fits in my backpack quite easily, and it is still lighter than my last "normal" laptop, and it just takes two minutes to set up for EVERYTHING. It consists of: - A Viewsonic VA1655 portable 15.6" display. (https://amzn.to/4m5pQzA) It is light and bright, gets power and video signal from a single USB-C cable, and it has a build-in kickstand that supports both wide and tall orientations. Sometimes I set it to the left of my Surface in Landscape or Portrait modes, but I prefer set it "above" the Surface display as you see here, using... - A LISEN Tablet Stand for iPad Stand. (https://amzn.to/4g8SsXo) It is light and folds down compactly, but is very strong and versatile. I find working with just the two displays set up one above the other is extremely useful, and the stand is only $13. - When I really need a THIRD display, (which isn't often) I break out my Samsung Galaxy S7e Android tablet, which runs an app called Superdisplay, along with the Superdisplay video driver on the Surface. It connects via a regular USB cable, and while there is a tiny amount of lag which is evident while gaming or playing videos, it's perfectly fine for typing and scrolling. It has a case which props it up at a great angle. I've had this tablet for years, but really, any modern Android tablet and Superdisplay is suitable. You do NOT need a very powerful All this will run off a fully charged Surface Pro and Samsung battery for about 2 hours, or I just plug the Surface in via the Surface connector, OR I can plug a USB-C power adapter in the Viewsonic display and the power "daisy chains" to the Surface Pro. The mouse is a Logitech MX Anywhere 2S which connects via Bluetooth. It's really a powerful and flexible setup that's surprisingly portable. I have had people stop me in airport lounges and ballroom conferences to ask me about my portable command center, and most are shocked how quick/easy/cheap/powerful it all is.
