Has Freesync Support, 60 W Power out of the ports, 120 hz screen. Only real downside is no touch screen, but I still like it for what it is.
r/ROGAllyX • Portable monitor for traveling ->Made a mistake, it's actually 144 hz.
r/ROGAllyX • Portable monitor for traveling ->Got a supposedly 100% srgb 400 nits portable monitor from uperfect as well and it's...fine. But definitely worse than my 400 nit laptop screen (which also claimed 100% srgb but is 89%).
r/sffpc • Portable monitor color mismatch? ->Here are the monitors I've bought and tested that are still available for purchase: * ARZOPA Portable Monitor 15.6'' 1080p - https://a.co/d/dQthqY5 * ViewSonic VX1755 17 Inch 1080p Portable IPS Gaming Monitor with 144Hz, AMD FreeSync - https://a.co/d/96lDX3y * MagicRaven 2.5K Portable Gaming Monitor, 16" 2520x1680 1500:1 IPS Laptop Monitor, Slim Lightweight USB C HDMI Computer Display - https://a.co/d/iazkCgk All three had similar screen quality. The Viewsonic had the best user interface and menu controls, but is the most expensive. The Magic Raven has the higher resolution but it's only 60Hz. I find the Arzopa as a brand a good entry into portable monitors for the price-to-performance ratio.
r/ROGAlly • Portable Monitor For Ally ->I’m using the ViewSonic VX1755 17 Inch 1080p Portable IPS Gaming Monitor with 144Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium, 2 Way Powered 60W USB C, Mini HDMI, and Built-in Stand with Magnetic Cover. Love the 2-way USB-C. Color is great and sound is decent. It’s a little more expensive than some of the Chinese brands but does everything I need and has been reliable so far. https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX1755-Portable-Monitor-FreeSync/dp/B09CQJ39YS/
r/ROGAllyX • 144hz portable monitor for Rog ally x ->Yes. It works perfectly with my Viewsonic VX 1755
r/ROGAllyX • Does the ROG Ally X work with a portable monitor using just a USB-C cable? ->Have this one also and definitely recommend
r/ROGAllyX • Portable monitor for traveling ->I like my Viewsonic 17”. I’ll need to look up the exact model number. Works perfectly with my Steam Deck; haven’t tried it with my MacBook, but I can. Edit: it’s a VX1755. 17”, 120 Hz, FreeSync, no HDR. Looks like a successor model, curiously the VX1754, is coming soon: https://www.viewsonic.com/global/products/lcd/VX1754
r/SteamDeck • I would like to buy a portable monitor ->I have this. Bought it used. Have used it with my Og ally, Xbox series s, and PS5. Love it.
r/ROGAllyX • Portable monitor for traveling ->Recently built a SFF gaming PC for travel, and ordered a 17.3" 1080p 144hz IPS portable monitor (Uperfect brand) from Amazon to pair with it... immediately noticed the colors were very different from the rest of my other displays. Seems a lot less vibrant. In my photo comparison example, on the left are my gaming laptop with 144hz IPS display, iPad Mini 4 and Samsung S23 Ultra, while on the right is the portable monitor. Notice that all the device displays on the left look more or less similiar in terms of color hue and intensity (they are all at default settings), while the portable monitor on the right looks noticeably different. This is after 2+ hours of tuning back and forth messing with all the monitor and calibration settings, the color still looks different from my other devices... still rather pale and washed out. I plan to use my laptop and the portable monitor side-by-side, so this difference in color and vibrancy is very noticeable and annoying. I know the china brand portable monitors can differ a lot in their quality... so I'm guessing either I got a dud unit or it's just a very low quality panel? Despite it being reviewed favourably and advertised as 100% sRGB and all. 🥴
r/sffpc • Portable monitor color mismatch? ->I posted an update with the monitor specs that I managed to dig out at its product website... turns out it was an old model with only 800:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits and 72% sRGB. So it was just a low quality IPS panel, hence the poor colors. Learnt my lesson this time, IPS panels can differ a lot in quality, can't trust the cherry picked advertised specs and paid reviewers. Definitely have to do more in depth research on such products before buying.
r/sffpc • Portable monitor color mismatch? ->I have a ViewSonic portable monitor, a little on the big side at 17", and it does this. The monitor has two usb-c ports, one for power only and the other for video and bi-directional power. If I simply plug my laptop into the video port, my laptop will provide power to the monitor. If I connect a PD power adapter to the power only port, it will not only power the monitor but also pass through power to charge my laptop. I think it came with a 60W adapter but I have also used a bigger one. I think it might be limited to 45W pass-through but I am not positive. EDIT: I looked up the specs and it states 60W. Model vx1755. It also has HDMI input as well, which obviously you need to supply power through the USB port for that to work. I've been really happy with it. It is big, but that is what I wanted.
r/UsbCHardware • Looking for a Portable Monitor that has one USB-C wire to the device, but also be able to provide charging to that device if receiving its own USB-C charge ->I have this one, it’s fantastic for gaming and the speakers are nice to have for a movie when the hotel TV won’t change inputs. Been carrying it around on flights and 1000mile road trips for a couple years in a laptop backpack along with my PC. r/sffpc • Durable, low-lag portable monitor recommendations? (Sub $300) ->I think it’s pretty darned solidlily built. But heavy at 2.2lbs. the kickstand is stiff at whatever angle you set it at. the speakers are decently loud but not great quality (to be expected for tiny built ins).
r/sffpc • Durable, low-lag portable monitor recommendations? (Sub $300) ->I believe the shell is all aluminum
