Reviews from Reddit:
I took a chance and bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CVQ5SD9. The company is one of those generic Chinese ones on Amazon (which I usually avoid but, seriously, what's left?) but the display has been solid and their customer service has been very good. I feel comfortable recommending them.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I got two Uperfect monitors to test out and wanted to share my thoughts, as there aren't many reviews out there. [Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quynB4hPfEs) is a short video comparison. On the left is Uperfect C2 (maybe?) 16" 2K 120Hz 2560x1600(16:10) 400 nits(?). The design looks a bit different from the one on their website; maybe it's an older model. I got it on [Amazon.de](https://Amazon.de). According to the user manual, it supports 120Hz over HDMI and 144Hz over USB-C. Colors are washed out, viewing angles are terrible, brightness is low. I wouldn't recommend it. In the middle is Dell XPS 9500 with its gorgeous FHD 16:10 display, with amazing colors and brightness rated as 500 nits, but according to Notebookcheck, it gets up to 580 nits. On the right is Uperfect UColor Q1 QLED 15.6" 1080P 16:9 500 nits. This is something else! Perfect colors and contrast, very close to the XPS. I would say even indistinguishable. The brightness is also almost as high as the XPS; you need to look back and forth a couple of times to notice a difference. The only downside I noticed is that when connecting it through a single USB-C to the laptop, the brightness is cut in half. So in order to enjoy the full potential, you need to power it externally (or just use 2 cables directly from the laptop). I will be returning them in the following days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I stumbled across this thread and it blows my mind that no one responded to you with an actual answer outside of the rtings one. I absolutely love portable monitors as I'm a nomad with full remote work. I want something that's a good medium between work and portable gaming for my switch or other console. I'm torn between [this one (1080p)](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CVQ5SD9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and [this one (1600p 120hz)](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHNLZCNF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I am currently using [this one (1440p)](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1TPLY9S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) The 1080p is DCI-P3 and the colors POP when I compared playing splatoon on the 1440p and the 1080p, but it's also smaller at 15.6". The 1440p one is 16.1" but it's 100% sRGB, which I'm reading is better for gaming as DCI-P3 can seem oversaturated. The 1600p one is coming in on Friday but if you're only using it for SSBM or switch gaming, you probably don't need 1600p nor the 120hz that it has. I'd highly recommend trying out both of the 1440p and the 1080p one to see which one you like best, then just return the other. All these monitors connect to the switch via USB C and all you have to do is power the monitor via the second USB-C and a wall outlet. They're fucking fantastic when my girlfriend is trying to watch TV and I dont want to play handheld mode.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I started digital nomading since Nov last year and had the exact same need. What I learned (the hard way) was that the most important thing for a portable monitor is the brightness (nits). If the listing doesn't indicate the nits, most likely it's so low they are ashamed about it. Avoid it at all costs. I bought one without researching and it's now collecting dust :( When shopping for non-portable monitors, most of them are bright enough that you don't even need to look at nits, and it's usually the resolution or something else that is the bottleneck. But for portable monitors, there are many out there where the brightness is so low its unusable. So you gotta look at the nits. I ended up buying this [500 nit UPERFECT one](https://amzn.to/384uY6P), and its so many times better than my first purcahse. Would highly recommend. Its surprisingly light which is important because I carry it in my backpack - don't want it to get damaged in my suitcase. And it can be powered by my macbook alone. It's just so much easier working with an extra screen. FYI resolution was another spec I was considering. But IMO resolution doesn't matter that much because a portable monitor can only be so big. My UPERFECT one is 1080p which is perfectly fine. Looks as sharp as my 2k 27in monitor.
