Reviews from Reddit:
I have the UPERFECT monitor you are referencing. Its is an absolute beast!
Full discussion on Reddit ->I picked up mine for $80. Pretty insane considering its 120hz, 1600p, 500 nits, and supports freesync
Full discussion on Reddit ->Amazing monitor. I have it but I feel like it’s not 500 nits. Currently having problems connecting it to my ally and dock whilst having the ally charged
Full discussion on Reddit ->This isn't a bad review or a recommendation against it, but I just wanted to chime in with my own experience so everyone here can make more informed decisions. I had this one but returned it. It's actually a great monitor but I returned it because the aspect ratio can't switch to 16:9. It can do 4:3, 16:10, and one other one I think, but not 16:9. It wont affect you if you don't do console gaming on it at all, but if you do, get something else otherwise your picture on your xbox/ps/switch will be stretched vertically. I switched to one that was 60hz 1600p but auto-sensed the aspect ratio and would change it for me accordingly. Oh yeah and you can't do 120hz at max brightness unless the monitor is plugged into the wall. You can get to like 70% brightness off thunderbolt power alone. Again, probably doesn't impact anyone here if you're using it on the Ally, but mattered to me since if I was using it for work on my laptop, I didn't want to fiddle with it or feel like I had to be tethered to a wall Also these monitors are always in the $160-$180 range on Amazon. There's plenty on Amazon with varying quality. This one was one of my favorite out of the 5 I tried out. Would've kept it if it did 16:9.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I have this specific monitor amongst a bunch of others. For its use case i don’t think any other comes close. I have an older Qled they made in fhd with a glass back and that is by far the best image quality I’ve seen on a monitor. This 16 one ticks a lot of boxes and will keep you happy for a long time. It has an almost non existent lower lip and even slim edges all round and pristine image quality. Go for it. For reference my other monitors include the lg 16 portable, lg 34gp83b and a philips Xbox 32 inch 4K ips monitor. Uperfect are the real deal.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I got a 2k 16 inch one from Uperfect and its great. cost around 250 usd
Full discussion on Reddit ->sorry for the late reply. im still liking it though i've never really used it outside. im using a different stand though. one tip for usage: plug your macbook charger into the external monitor and the external monitor into your macbook. this way you only use one USB C port and your mac is still getting charged.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I have the 16”. First off, it’s $130 on the Ebay store for Uperfect, it does fluctuate somewhat. I’ve been satisfied with the picture quality. The biggest downsides are poor speakers (obviously) and the buttons for controlling settings are terrible… but I rarely use them so it’s not a big deal. At $130 it’s hard to criticize this monitor. Recommended.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I use this monitor [https://www.amazon.com/UPERFECT-Portable-2560x1600-FreeSync-External/dp/B0BHNLZCNF?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/UPERFECT-Portable-2560x1600-FreeSync-External/dp/B0BHNLZCNF?th=1) with its included folding stand and have been very satisfied with it. I have considered getting these if I decide to mount my monitor higher. Full discussion on Reddit ->I have a Mac Mini to use when working remote, and I will be traveling to visit family for the holidays, so I need a portable monitor. I have used spare TVs in their houses before but it just strains my eyes too much. MacBooks are not an option (I have a personal pro but cannot use it for work), and I can’t bring my regular monitors with me anywhere, they’re too big. I also can’t install third party software to use my iPad as a monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions for portable monitors that can fit into a backpack, probably something around 13-16 inches? It doesn’t need to be battery powered or super high resolution either. I also don’t want to spend too much if at all possible. UPDATE: I bought a portable monitor off of Amazon, the UPERFECT QLED 15.6" portable monitor. Fits in a backpack similarly to how a laptop would, the screen looks good, and it's powered completely off of a single USB C connection, that also provides the image from my Mac Mini. It's about $170 right now with a coupon, definitely like it so far.
Full discussion on Reddit ->This is great and I really appreciate the time you put into this reply. I would really only be using this monitor for PC stuff, either SFF gaming with a small PC or basic laptop productivity (Word, Excel), so the 1600p 120hz sounds really nice. Here's my issue, which maybe isn't so much of an issue in the grand scheme of things but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. What's the deal with the colors/contrast? At this screen size, what're the trade-offs between 15.6 1080p at 144hz with good factory color calibration vs 16.1 1600p at 120hz with meh calibration? As far as I can tell, there are three identical monitors currently out (hardware wise) that all cost about $160 on the big Bezos shopping website: AYY 2K Portable Monitor 16'' 120Hz SVANTTO 16” 2K Portable Gaming Monitor, 120Hz, VESA UPERFECT 2K 120Hz VESA (Btw, it turns out that ASUS is coming out with a monitor that uses the same panel, but I suspect it will cost an arm and a leg: [https://edgeup.asus.com/2023/zenscreen-mb16qhg-mb17ahg-mb249c-intro/](https://edgeup.asus.com/2023/zenscreen-mb16qhg-mb17ahg-mb249c-intro/) ) I found an ASUS XG16AHPE for $210 recently, which is $50 more than these guys, but the color/contrast is guaranteed to be well calibrated. I'm a bit torn on the PPI vs the good factory calibration. Edit: the third option are the 17.3 1080p 240hz displays, but those big boys are all over $300.
Full discussion on Reddit ->So I managed to get my hands on three monitors and did some testing today with the ASUS X16G/X17G and the UPERFECT version of the 1600p 120hz monitor with my Gigabyte M28U as a 'control'. The color accuracy was basically equal as far as I could tell. I give a slight edge to ASUS X16G/X17G over the UPERFECT and the Gigabyte but probably just on the basis of some factory calibration. The UPERFECT was a little bit sharper than the ASUS monitors due to the increased PPI, but I couldn't really notice that much of a difference honestly while sitting around 3 feet away. The real difference was the UFO Test, where the UPERFECT 1600p 120hz got walloped in motion blur and ghosting by the ASUS monitors (and the Gigabyte): no ghosting at all on the ASUS monitors and very visible ghosting on the UPERFECT, significantly more motion blur on the UPERFECT as well. This was tested with the UPERFECT overdrive setting on and off. The ASUS XG16 definitely isn't worth over twice the UPERFECT ($350 vs $160), but it's definitely better for fast moving scenes, and a 'used' deal might be worth a pickup if it's closer to $200. If you don't mind some ghosting and are doing more 'static' work/gaming, the UPERFECT is a very good deal. As a coda, my sense of the X16G and X17G is basically consistent with RTINGs: the bigger monitor is faster, more responsive, and is the obvious move if 240hz benefits you, but otherwise save the money and get the X16G with 144hz.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I personally got the 16” 16x10 monitor that popped up in a thread here a few months ago, as well as on a YouTube channel I frequent. It’s honestly been great as my second monitor, and I’ll be using it for traveling here soon. https://a.co/d/4cWM9qh
Full discussion on Reddit ->I loved it until I accidently forced my USB-C cable into the mini-HDMI port while trying to connect it during QuakeCon this year. I ended up grabbing one of the 17" ViewSonic portable monitors from Microcenter, but it's not the same. I'll probably end up ordering another one of these at some point!
Full discussion on Reddit ->I have the 16” uperfect monitor. 2560x1600 I use it with my sff pc I travel with and it’s great. I’ve been on the hunt for a 18” 2560x1600 monitor since asus released their 18” line of laptops. Finally saw some drop on AliExpress that look similar in construction to my 16” so I’m biting the bullet and ordered it. It’s suppose to be 144hz.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I have the 16” 120hz uperfect monitor 2560x1600 and it’s great. And I have No brightness issues it’s plenty bright and I usually run it at 35-55% brightness depending on my conditions I ordered the 18” and it’s on its way. But everything takes 2-3 weeks from China it seems. I’m 10 days in so far
Full discussion on Reddit ->I just got the monitor yesterday, and finally got home today to unpack it. It’s legit and 18” as described and is recognized by my pc at 1600p and up to 144hz. No apparent quality issues or anything but I need a few days to play with it to come up with better impressions took about 3 weeks to go from China to the Midwest U.S. my initial impressions are I love it and the resolution doesn’t feel as squeezed on a 16”
Full discussion on Reddit ->Well the freesync thing I can only test with gsync compatible mode as I have nvidia and I don’t know what else to tweak. The less premium feel related to the 16 uperfect I have. It has a screwless design that feels almost iPad like. It’s not bad but I was spoiled by the seamless design of the other monitor. And lastly about the vesa and durability. I would just be careful on overtighting them it just it’s fine threads and the actual vesa holes/threads seem to be made differently or using a different screw socket compared to the uperfect. I put this monitor in a 17” laptop sleeve with the folio cover on it that is rigid I would have no fear about it in a backpack in a sleeve and or rigid cover. The gsync thing is disappointing compared to the uperfect 16” but I still prefer it’s size despite these minor downfalls. I would recommend it at 200 and would say if you can get the 16” off Amazon for 160ish and don’t wanna import it it’s worth it if the size isn’t a issue Edit: I just wanna say the 16” is probably better than the 18” if you’re looking for freesync, and a thinner profile it’s about half as thick as the 18”. My main problem was size and I wanted something bigger so I may be able to overlook these downfalls because it solves my problem. Here’s my mobile setup and I can answer more questions or send u some pics comparing the vesa holes and general construction if you want. https://preview.redd.it/gzpt9pb7amab1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ff61dbc82522e7b788c4abbb2633b979f955211
Full discussion on Reddit ->I bought the UPerfect 2k ips screen which has a high refresh rate. For being an unknown company, it has been stellar. Seems like it goes on sale a lot, too.
Full discussion on Reddit ->Seems comparable to any other portable ips, so suitable? Same deal with color. I wouldn't put it next to a high end oled/mini-led laptop and expect a miracle though.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I have a uperfect monitor as well , a 16inch , yeah there's a slight color wash , but hey I don't need the second monitor for anything color accurate or anything so it's perfectly fine . Once I build my next set up , planning to go full modular and portable , a uperfect delta + the current portable monitor . As a person who hates travel and stuff but forced to this portable monitors are life changers . No laptop is gonna cut for the work I do so there's that

Full discussion on Reddit ->Just wanted to check back in on this thread with an update. I ended up going with this Uperfect 16.1" 2K 120hz joint. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHNLZCNF?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHNLZCNF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) Shell is all aluminum, a little light bleed along the bottom edge, but it's imperceptible when any kind of content is on screen. Also, I've tried so many different tablet stands these last few days, and none of them work well for a portable monitor. I determined that a light duty laptop stand would be the best solution, and this Amazon Basics stand is working out great so far: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLRJ4R8F?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLRJ4R8F?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)
Full discussion on Reddit ->I recently spent hours looking for a good portable monitor and landed on the UPERFECT Uplays 16” 2k 120hz monitor. It’s like $185 MSRP but goes on sale. Worked great with my PS5 and included the needed cord. Very lightweight and easy to use, I’ve been pleased with it.
Full discussion on Reddit ->Still holds up great and I use it almost daily. There is the ever so tiniest light bleed like most LCD panels, but you really have to look for it to see it. But yeah, I’ve used it for many many hours since April and it’s been holding up great. I’m still happy with the purchase.
Full discussion on Reddit ->None that I can detect. I think I’m pretty sensitive to knowing when there’s latency between input and the screen and this thing has run perfectly for me.
Full discussion on Reddit ->usually for a similar price to an Arzopa you can find a 16" 1600p 120hz Uperfect panel, the increased resolution is worth it for me for non-gaming tasks I had last years model and it got a dead pixel and they swapped it for this years, and the new ones are dimmer tho
Full discussion on Reddit ->I think this is going to be a definite "YMMV" type of thing, but I'm not big on Arzopa monitors. Something just seems "off" about the screens. I have one of their 14" models and it was because of that I wanted to try a different one. The build quality on their newer models like the one in the OP are good and the kickstand they use is excellent, but the screen still seemed off to me. I think the panels are just a bit too dark and blue-tinged for my liking. I ended up trying several portable monitors and was disappointed with the screens on most of them. For "gaming" displays, ghosting was a noticeable issue. I found these to be the only two worth getting: **UPERFECT M161J05** (16"/1600P/144hz) - Excellent picture and no noticeable ghosting. When I hooked it up to my laptop, I was able to run it at full brightness and 144hz without needing an AC adapter. Not sure if that would be the case with the Legion Go as I didn't try that with it when I was testing it. The monitor is made entirely of plastic and feels "cheap" compared to other portable monitors, but the screen is so good that it really doesn't matter. However, it has no built-in kickstand and needs to use its folio cover as a stand. **NexiGo NG16UFG-S** (16"/1600P/144hz) - Pretty much the same specs as the UPERFECT monitor, but it's 16:10, can get brighter at 500 nits, and the display is noticeably more vibrant- easily the best portable monitor I have ever used in this regard. This model has extra USB ports, better buttons for menu navigation, a built-in kickstand (horizontal orientation only), and full-sized HDMI-in. The build quality is excellent (almost entirely metal, too). What's the downside? If you want to take full advantage of this monitor's performance, you \*NEED\* to use it with an AC adapter. In fact, on some PCs, you'll need to use it with the AC adapter for it to even work at all. It failed to work with the AC adapter on my work laptop (a Lenovo X1 Yoga), but did work with USB-C on my Razer laptop. For the Go, you need to use it plugged in. When running it off a USB-C cable connected to my gaming laptop, I could only get it work properly at 50% brightness, speakers off, and it would only run at 120hz. This is actually OK for general usage since the screen is brighter than you'd think at this level. This monitor also tends to cost more than a lot of the others, but coupons for $40-$50 off tend to pop up pretty often on Amazon. In the end, I went with the Nexigo because I thought it was worth the small hassle of having to plug another device in to get the best picture and overall quality. Haven't regretted it.
Full discussion on Reddit ->I ended up getting these [UPERFECT 2K](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHNLZCNF) monitors. I really like how thin the bezels are; **however**, I've had 1 of them break on me simply by picking it up. Cracked the screen on the edge. I ordered a replacement, and that one arrived with a 1 pixel high blue line spanning across the entire monitor. I ended up getting this [ForHelp](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQHVYC5L) monitor (holy shit did the price go up. I paid $150 for mine), mostly because I wanted to try a different brand after Uperfect failed me twice. The bottom bezel is a bit bigger, and the monitor runs at 60hz vs the 120hz of the previous one, but I'm not using either of these as a gaming monitor over the FW's 165hz monitor. The Uperfect's monitor isn't as bright as it can be running off of 1 cable, but it's plenty serviceable. Definitly brighter than my attempts at running it with my first monitor in my post and a USB-C hub. The ForHelp monitor runs the brightest off 1 cable, though oddly enough can't be pushed to full 100%. Running at 70% it is noticeably brighter than Uperfect's *stated* 100%. If I had to pick one, I'd probably try Uperfect again. Maybe I just got unlucky. Especially when looking at the sudden price hike of the ForHelp, with its lower refresh rate and *slight* bulkiness. Both worked great for my needs though.

Full discussion on Reddit ->I need to travel soon, and saw this as a perfect opportunity to finally get a Framework 16. I like/need a 3 monitor setup, so I picked up some portable monitors ([ARZOPA 16" 2.5K Portable Monitor](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CH9XR3G4)). These little things are great on my desktop and with my phone. So it came as a surprise when they didn't work with the USB C ports on the FW. A few google searches shows I'm not alone in this issue. The display works if I connect to the single USB C port in the back of the GPU expansion card, but not at full brightness. I can also get them to work via a USB C dongle and HDMI, using an aditional USB A cable from the dongle to power the display. This is really dissapointing, and I'm not sure I would of even gone for this setup if I had to deal with more dongles and cables. My questions are if anyone's had success with USB C portable monitors with similar specs, or if anyone has any dongle or cable recommendations that will still let me use just 1 cable for each monitor.
