So I just got the UPERFECT with the hinges (paid $189 before taxes), that I linked...and I love it. I think they are def. the best 1080p portable monitor for under like $300. I also got the Lepow Z1 Gamut (this brand seems better established and packaging materials was a bit better), but it has no Freesync and the smart cover stand is really unstable. This UPERFECT model is perfect imo. Its even significant thinner and lighter..which was a huge plus for me. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the speakers are back facing...that said, I'll either be using my laptop speakers or Bluetooth earbuds 99% of the time, so not a big deal for me. I'm returning the Lepow Z1 Gamut this week. Image quality, brightness, and colors seems about the same. I kinda lean a little toward the UPERFECT..it also has a better OSD menu...so yeah. It seems to be more 'updated' and the only portable monitor under $250 to have all the features I was looking for. If I was only watching TV on it..I'd aim for maybe a 4k, but for work..mixing a 4k portable with a 1080p laptop seems like a scaling nightmare (and worse for trying to game on it)..so I prefer the 1080p for now.
