I like Bulk Nutrients unflavoured soy protein, but my runner up is Natures Way plant based vanilla. I find Macro Mike and most others way too artificially sweet. The Bulk soy is amazingly versatile, I put it in smoothies and make treats with it, you can truly add it to anything. Nature’s Way is cheap, accessible and surprisingly the best tasting vanilla I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot.

Still is about that for Soy Isolate. Similar macros, not as tasty but at half the price I’m willing to sacrifice flavour.

I’ve tried their soy and pea isolates. Neither as good as the whey (harder to mix without a shaker, flavour not as good) but at the price I’m not complaining. Soy isolate kinda tastes like soy milk when mixed and mixes slightly better than the pea isolate. So if you’re the kind of person who likes soy milk it’s the better go. Pea is… very bitter. It’s a more complete amino acid profile so might be a better call if you’re vegan and/or getting the majority of your protein from powder. If you’re omnivorous and/or getting your dietary protein from a good variety of sources, I’d just go soy.

Was about to post the same thing. It's also one of the cheapest options. I didn't like their chai. Chocolate, vanilla, coldbrew, strawberry, and choc honeycomb have all been good. Strawberry tastes exactly like a fake-strawberry milkshake 🤤

To be fair it's the only chai protein powder I've used, and I usually drink chai tea without sugar. I might just not like it as a protein shake flavour in general

You mentioned pea protein, are you vegan? I used to be for over a decade and I only ever found one company that made decent vegan protein powder (bulk nutrients in Australia). If you’re not vegan, try whey protein. My experience is that generally as a rule vegan protein powders fall down on texture and taste in a huge way.

Vital is good if you want a flavoured protein powder that's a little less sweet than most. I switched to Bulk Nutrients because it's cheaper and I've come around to the sweeter flavour, though unfortunately it makes me use a little less because I can't tolerate too much.

my protein, true protein and bulk nutrients are all pretty good

You could try a few Aussie brands and see which one fits your ingredient preferences. Bulk Nutrients is great if you want something local and simple. If you prefer isolate, the unflavoured True Protein WPI is one of the cleaner options around and mixes well, but it sits at a higher price point.

Hell I remember when they did the 5 or 10kg bags. Still use bulk nutrients but hate the 1kg bag design they adopted, it looks better but why is the opening smaller than it could be!

I hate all flavoured protein powders, no matter how many I try. I used to have them decades ago but can't stomach them these days. Now I use unflavoured (from Bulk Nutrients and Coles Wellness Road) and I flavour them myself as needed with syrups from Cashmere Syrups in Brisbane. Their light vanilla is great, as are many. I also use them to flavour my (protein or not) Ninja Creamis. 😋 Can recommend. If you're around Brisbane northside you can pick up from their Brendale warehouse during the week. https://cashmeresyrups.com.au/

Bulk nutrients sell unflavoured protein powder (the ‘raw’ flavour), and they are one of the cheapest on the market. However, be aware protein powder prices have jumped a lot recently across the board.
