negative. Optimum Gold Standard Protein Shake was orange, at above 150% of consumer report's level of concern for lead, and recommend to limit to 4 2/3 servings per week. The Optimum Gold Standard 100% Whey is what was green across the board and recommend 1 3/4 servings per day.
well I guess we can chalk up the disagreement to lack of specificity. "Optimum Gold Protein Powder" isn't listed in the consumer reports article (unless I am blind, which may in fact be the case). There are two Optimum products listed: * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake - not recommended * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey - recommended If I've missed one or miscategorized one I'll edit my post right away, but I believe I've got them listed correctly.
Careful - Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake is listed under "occasionally" and their Gold Standard 100% Whey is listed under "better choices for daily consumption". Kudos on calling out Muscle Tech as having no limit on safe consumption. I missed that and grouped it with the rest of the ones in the same category.
i had the same issue with whey and equip has been a game changer for me! no more stomach problems and it actually tastes decent with almond milk.
I would start with equip prime vanilla and it mixes with just a spoon in milk. Well it tastes like a milkshake without the chemical afertaste. I have been using it two years now
Equip protein! Use code kirasinthekitchen for $$ off!
It doesn’t! I like the vanilla better than the chocolate (which is odd bc I’m normally a chocolate person)
I can't speak on whey as it gives me acid reflux. I found a company called equip. it is grass fed beef protein powder. Minimal ingredients and tastes amazing. I was using almond milk , but switched to oat milk for inflammation reasons. almond milk is lower calorie tho. chocolate is the one
I use Ancestrial Supplements. Before that I used Equip. No whey.
Best tasting is Dymatize cocoa pebbles or fruity pebbles. But it’s kind of a trash protein like 98% of them out there. It has maltitol or maltodextrin which doesn’t have to be on the label listed as a sugar. So like almost all protein powders, they load up on it to make it taste like a dessert. For high quality and still has good flavor, I go with Prime grass fed protein chocolate or True Nutrition grass fed chocolate brownie. True Nutrition is by far the best bang for your buck in the high quality category. Look at the ingredients and you’ll see about 5-6 things.
Equip protein is AMAZING it’s not whey based and their chocolate flavor is soooo good
After a lot of research we went with Equip due to 3rd party lab testing and short ingredient list.
