I'm kinda confused cuz I'm tired and dumb. I also use the Garden of Life Raw Organic Meal (Chocolate), and according to garden of life themselves, it has about 1.2 mcg of lead. It's unfortunately If the limit per day is like 5, isnt that really bad? Or am I misinterpreting something? If you could explain to my dumb brain I'd appreciate it
My concern tho is that if I'm getting that much from a scoop of protein powder, which is like 100-150 calories of the 2500 I eat per day...how much am I really intaking?
I found I couldn’t process dairy at all during chemo. I used a great protein powder Garden of Eatin Raw Organic Meal with oatmilk, left steamed veggies in the fridge to pick on when I had an appetite, especially potatoes given that they are nutrient dense and bland. Electrolyte beverages are important to have on hand, I used off brand pedialyte as there was less sugar, but avoid the beverages that advertise having loads of B vitamins ( i.e. Mio Viamins) unless your MedOnc gives you an all clear (it can and does interact with several chemos at even reasonably high doses). All the best to you hun.
I'm currently having Garden of Life's Raw Organic Meal (powder), in Vanilla, which has about 20g of protein in one scoop. Plus it has a buttload of vitamins & organic vegetable and plant ingredients. All the ingredients are clean (no natural flavors, etc), but it's still delicious. You could also try GoL's Raw Organic Protein line. Only difference is it has less vitamins, and has an amino acid profile, whereas the other one doesn't.
I’ve been eating Chocolate Raw Organic Meal from Garden of Life for what feels like a decade. Plant-based protein. 20g per scoop. I’ve started using oatmeal in my shakes in place of strawberries and I’m upset I didn’t discover it years ago.
I get sick of protein flavors so quickly. Currently bc of food aversions, I cant even stomach the smell but I know adding some to my smoothies would help me. Currently I have Garden of Life chocolate protein powder.
Garden of Life's plant-based protein powder is marginally cheaper, actually. Plus the calories are lower. https://preview.redd.it/4kpmuqu9kieg1.png?width=2946&format=png&auto=webp&s=edbb3c7965f3e5b7a562a911cc1cc6f56d6d3995
Garden of Life is the cheapest vegan protein powder that I've found, coming in at $6.34/100g protein. Also the calories/100g protein is decent, at 566.

Garden of Life protein powder is really good, and no whey. Super easy to digest and tasty
