Unflavored protein is what you’re looking, probably. I’m partial to Isopure. Their whey isolate and plant based (pea & brown rice) are both quite good. The plant based has a slightly grittier texture, but mixed in a smoothie with raspberries with flax or whatever, it’s hard to notice. I always use unflavored protein powder and add fruit, vanilla extract, cocoa, instant espresso, etc. myself to flavor it how I want as I want it. I also have had luck adding the unflavored to things like oats (half a scoop for a serving of overnight oats), baked oatmeal, muffins, and stuff like that without any noticeable texture differences.

r/EatCheapAndHealthyUnflavored protein powders for mixing into oatmeal?

They have whey isolate and a brown rice/pea blend. Both are good, though the whey has 5g more protein. The whey isolate has a milky smell/taste but blends really well in oatmeal, in baked goods or with fruit in a smoothie. Pea protein has a strong taste generally, but cutting it with rice makes it a lot less noticeable AND makes it a complete protein. I used them in the same ways, basically and both are perfectly good options. I choose to use whey because they tend to test better for lead than vegan powders + the extra protein. And I know it’s lactose free - I’m lactose intolerant (which I found out last year during an elimination diet, hence the vegan powder) and it doesn’t bother me. I had gastric bypass so I’ve tried a lot of protein powders. :)

r/CookingDisguise plant protein powder better in smoothie? Or alternative plant protein powder for smoothies?

I tried Orgain and it was incredibly disgusting. I returned it. I ended up getting Isopure unflavored plant protein. It is a blend of brown rice and pea proteins. I made smoothies with it (1c triple berry blend, a drop of vanilla extract OR 1 TB cocoa powder, 1/2 a banana, scoop of protein and 8 oz. of water. ) sometimes I’d add PB flour too.

Unflavored Isopure for me. I’m adding it to stuff, so why would I need odd flavors? Too bad Costco doesn’t carry it, but the Amazon price is okay.

That's the one I use, too. I add 1/2 scoop into my coffee and don't notice it at all.

I also use isopure unflavored but the one pictured in the photo is zero carb? You think it makes a difference, or is it safe to assume that if one line is safe then the others are as well?

I guess they only have one type of “unflavored” as far as I know but the one in the picture is their zero carb flavored protein, I can tell because it has the brown dot which is either chocolate or cookies and creame. I do two scoops a day of the unflavored protein, and I’d hate to be throwing lead into my body for the sake of “gains.”

I have only ever had the unflavored isopure, but I've had it just with water and mio flavoring and it's great. I also use it as a flour replacement for dredging chicken lol
