Unflavored protein is what you’re looking, probably. I’m partial to Isopure. Their whey isolate and plant based (pea & brown rice) are both quite good. The plant based has a slightly grittier texture, but mixed in a smoothie with raspberries with flax or whatever, it’s hard to notice. I always use unflavored protein powder and add fruit, vanilla extract, cocoa, instant espresso, etc. myself to flavor it how I want as I want it. I also have had luck adding the unflavored to things like oats (half a scoop for a serving of overnight oats), baked oatmeal, muffins, and stuff like that without any noticeable texture differences.
They have whey isolate and a brown rice/pea blend. Both are good, though the whey has 5g more protein. The whey isolate has a milky smell/taste but blends really well in oatmeal, in baked goods or with fruit in a smoothie. Pea protein has a strong taste generally, but cutting it with rice makes it a lot less noticeable AND makes it a complete protein. I used them in the same ways, basically and both are perfectly good options. I choose to use whey because they tend to test better for lead than vegan powders + the extra protein. And I know it’s lactose free - I’m lactose intolerant (which I found out last year during an elimination diet, hence the vegan powder) and it doesn’t bother me. I had gastric bypass so I’ve tried a lot of protein powders. :)
A cocktail shaker. I use plain unflavored isopure protein powder and either mix it with almond milk or some juice
I have been eyeing this brand for months now. Currently using isopure’s unflavored 1 or 2 ingredient powder but I want to try naked whey. Any idea where they sell it b&m?
I’ve been using Isopure for about 13 years. All the flavors are good, mixes well and most are low-carb or zero sugar. You can pick up the vanilla at Costco for about $0.70/serving.
Costco carries a 3.36 lb 50-serving container for $34.90 at 25g/serving, which is $2.79/100g. Same as my $0.70/serving. Sam’s Club is $5.45/100g, Amazon is $6.96/100g, and Vitamin Shoppe is as low as $5.63/100g. But it’s not just about the money. Flavor and solubility are both excellent.
I like Isopure (vanilla). I have a scoop every morning with greek yogurt and fruit. I do add a little Stevia. I love it, tastes like dessert to me. 25 gr of protein, no carbs. I get it at Costco.
Isopure's unflavored has no sugar or sweeteners.
Unflavored Isopure for me. I’m adding it to stuff, so why would I need odd flavors? Too bad Costco doesn’t carry it, but the Amazon price is okay.
