I’ve been a daily user of protein powder for almost a decade now. For most of that time, I used ON chocolate and later switched to KS chocolate. I’ve been on the hunt for a protein powder that’s clean, free from fillers and additives, and still tastes good. 6 months ago, I tried the chocolate Levels protein powder for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. Since then, I’ve permanently switched to Levels, but I can only order it online. Although it’s more expensive than KS, I’m willing to pay the extra $ for cleaner ingredients. I highly recommend giving it a try (YMMV).
Levels whey - very few ingredients, good flavor, and good macros.
Levels Grass fed whey protein is my current fave. I use the unflavored to keep it as clean as possible. It does come in various flavors too. Not overly pricey, I get it from Amazon.
This is what I’ve been using for probably close to 10 years, I really like the vanilla bean flavor. I’ve just started mixing it up a bit with some clear protein for variety but I think Levels has really high quality ingredients, bcaas, etc. so I mostly use that one. I’ve been getting mine from Amazon, will have to check out their subscription options.
You would probably like Levels Grass Fed Whey Protein. You can get it at WalMart and Kroger for sure. It was around $20 for a lb. Everything is expensive now so for what you are looking for that doesn’t have heavy metals and a shit ton of ingredients is rather small. 6 ingredients. Good flavor. The best tasting stuff I have tried was OnlyWhatYouNeed (OWYN brand) plant protein plus supergreens in Dark Chocolate. Mixes with a spoon and tastes like fair life chocolate milk. Its $25ish for 20ounces i think. Again as far as taste goes it is number one.
I do, but it's usually my pre or post workout snack. For example, I hit the gym at about 5:30/6am and I need some fuel before my session, but don't have a lot of time for breakfast, I have it with a banana or I'll drink it w/ a plant based milk. It settles in the 15-20 minute drive to the gym and It's not too heavy on me during my workout. Similarly, I usually have to log into work by 7:30/8am and if I had oatmeal as my pre-workout breakfast, then I'll drink blend up a quick 2-3 fruit, protein powder, & almond milk smoothie. I prefer whole foods vs supplements and don't use it to do total meal replacement but it helps on the days I need to hit that protein goal, but am pressed for time/convenience. I use Levels Whey - 6 ingredients
