I had to bring myself to switch from ON powder to muscle tech grass fed, because they are the only brand to test with no lead consistently all the time .... Alot of brand have excessive lead levels it's a real problem. Pro taste amazing, no lead certified tested. Con doesn't mix as easy as some brands
Nutritech (very expensive now though) Clear Nutrition (price also went up substantially) - a tad sweeter than Nutritech vanilla but still tastes good. Honourable mentions would be Biogen ... MuscleTech is probably the best BUT it's crazy expensive
Avoid: * Naked Nutrition * Huel Once per week: * Garden of Life * Momentous 100% Plant Protein Occasionally: * MuscleMeds * Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake * Jocko Fuel * Vega * Quest * Orgain * Equip Foods * Plant Fusion * Ensure * Muscle Milk * KOS Better Choices for Daily Consumption: * Owyn * Transparent Labs * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey * BSN * Momentus Whey Protein Isolate * Dymatize * Muscle Tech Only the last one - Muscle Tech - is listed as no limit on safe consumption.
negative. Optimum Gold Standard Protein Shake was orange, at above 150% of consumer report's level of concern for lead, and recommend to limit to 4 2/3 servings per week. The Optimum Gold Standard 100% Whey is what was green across the board and recommend 1 3/4 servings per day.
well I guess we can chalk up the disagreement to lack of specificity. "Optimum Gold Protein Powder" isn't listed in the consumer reports article (unless I am blind, which may in fact be the case). There are two Optimum products listed: * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake - not recommended * Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey - recommended If I've missed one or miscategorized one I'll edit my post right away, but I believe I've got them listed correctly.
Careful - Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Shake is listed under "occasionally" and their Gold Standard 100% Whey is listed under "better choices for daily consumption". Kudos on calling out Muscle Tech as having no limit on safe consumption. I missed that and grouped it with the rest of the ones in the same category.
same i use muscletech as well!
MuscleBlaze is nice but i don’t like how it becomes slimy I generally use IN2, great taste and mixability, especially coffee flavor I’ve used MuscleTech, it’s way too sweet I’ve used unflavoured ones too, best part is I buy some flavours like belgium chocolate or coffee, add to the mix and add some sugarfree pellet this way i can control taste and sweetness, worked like a charm and saves money too ON is fine, good mixability and taste WholeTruth seems great but too expensive as of now I don’t use whey, 100% of my protein requirements now comes from my diet i designed (about 140g protein) I will be adding whey soon but just 1 scoop as a last resort to cut down quantity of chicken (200g chicken breasts, total calorie of my diet is 1900) which i find too much to eat, I can go on but i’ll optimise it better this way as a golden rule of thumb; always make sure you do not require more than a scoop of whey and rest comes from your diet whey protein is the last resort when your diet is difficult to be optimised without compromising lot of caloric values
Sweet - strawberry cream Vanilla-like - salted caramel These 2. Matcha latte I suspect the flavor changed lol so I stopped buying after going through a few 5kg bags Now I buy muscletech instead since mp price difference not that much
