I’ve always been a fan of Myprotein, cheap and incredible flavours
I've always liked Myprotein
Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard is a pretty safe bet for regular whey. MyProtein is also good, but you have to catch it on sale or order it through subscription, or it's pretty expensive. I just mix it with water. EDIT: As for flavor, if you like chocolate, chocolate flavors are also usually a good choice.
Whey protein isolate is my go too. Wa nice because only high end good companies made it in a handful of flavors so I never really had to think hard about getting a “good one” Now that ghost and ABE make it also now I need to actually check it first. Myprotein and isopure were the go to’s always though.
Currently The Myprotein impact way is just under £36, working out at £14.40 / kilo. That's reasonable price for their stuff since the prices rocketed. (I also feel the quality had gone down at the same time prices have risen). For a good while Home Bargains were doing 1kg bags of PHD Diet Whey for £14, I think it increased to £18. Reasonable value for good quality protein though less protein per serving then Impact Whey. Haven't seen it in a few months so I've been buying from Costco.
The £36 is the current price in Costco.
I ran through about 20kg of myprotein impact whey , they do clump up occasionally but nothing too severe. Though now the pricing q bad so probably considering buying ON again
I use myprotein impact whey. Don’t really recommend their clear whey, way too chalky. Edit: impact isolate
I just go with whatever whey is cheapest (without any fillers) The last time I bought some it was Impact Whey protein from MyProtein.
Honestly, it depends on your goals and budget, but my top 3 protein powders would be: 1. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey – super reliable, mixes well, tastes good, and has solid quality control. 2. Dymatize ISO 100 – great if you want fast absorption and minimal lactose; it’s one of the cleanest isolates out there. 3. MyProtein Impact Whey – best bang for your buck; decent taste and quality for the price. All three are legit options. ON is the safe all-rounder, Dymatize is for serious lifters, and MyProtein’s perfect if you’re budget-conscious but still want good protein.
Keep an eye on hotukdeals, they tend to post myprotein deals or bodybuilding warehouse. I tend to buy in bulk and aim for around £10 per kg. The last lot I got from myprotein was even under £10 per kg with the refer a friend discount.
when you’ve tried several and you say they taste bland. Do you mix it with water or do you mix it with milk? Mixing it with water is one of the biggest things I tell people never to do because it becomes like to force it down. Personally to me when I lived in the US, I went for a chocolate flavors. Personally, when I tested from the US ,optimum nutrition the mixability, and the flavors to me personally were very good. The brand is also third-party tested. Myprotein impact Whey again. I thought the taste was pretty decent compared to a lot of other brands. And last is Blue Star. Mixability and they had a wide variety of tastes, but I’m a sucker for chocolate so I tested all over these three for chocolate and I think blue star one on the taste optimum won overall.
