This is what I do, too. Depending on the powder I use, I can get 16-28 grams of protein for 80-160 calories, plus the negligible calories in the coffee itself, which I choose not to count. My typical go-to proffee is SunWarrior pumpkin spice plant-based protein powder, which is the low end (80 cal/16 protein) or My Protein (chocolate or caramel) plant-based whey which is 100 cal for 20g protein. On days I expect I will have more calories to spare, Good Protein has a range of flavors on the higher end of that spectrum, but even when I use Good Protein, my 160-ish calorie protein coffee is nowhere near the calories in a smoothie that also has milk, banana, yogurt, other fruit, etc.

Also, you might want to check out My Protein’s Whey Forward line, which is vegan precision-fermented whey protein. They’re super sweet which I don’t love but they do blend really well because it’s a finer powder than plant protein powders.

I bought about a years worth of it when it was on deep discount and absolutely hate every flavor. It’s very synthetic tasting and I kept finding plastic bits in the peppermint one. I force myself to have them sometimes but absolutely hate it. Now the two MyProtein vegan powder I’ve tried is fine tasting, the vanilla chia and banana at least, so I was suprised how much I hate Whey forward. Different folks different strokes!

I like myprotein salted caramel. Tastes like milk powder to me and it’s light

Whey fwrd is by far the best. It is from My protein. I subscribe to texts from them and buy when on sale. I can get it for like 80 cents per 20g protein when on sale. It is vegan whey, identical to animal whey but lab made. It has more EAAs than every single plant protein. Cinnamon cereal flavor has been gross recently though.

I’m curious what makes it bad? I love myprotein salted caramel flavor it’s the only one that I haven’t gotten sick of the taste.

Stuck to salted caramel since day 1, tastes like a milkshake when mixed with fresh milk.
