It’s not whey, but I use Naked Pea protein powder and it’s very easy on the stomach. It has all the essential amino acids too.
I love Naked brand! I do naked pea and naked peanut in my smoothie everyday. Highly recommend the pea one for people with sensitive stomachs, dairy intolerance or that want more protein and less calories than whey (1 serving is 120 cal for 27 g of protein)
I’ve been on the same hunt for a vegan powder that doesn’t taste like chalk, so I feel your pain. If she’s already tried Vega and Good Protein, I’d try a few others that lean toward a milder flavor. OWYN, KOS Vanilla, and Orgain are usually safer bets taste-wise. If she really can’t handle the sweeteners or aftertaste, the unflavored options like Naked Pea or Garden of Life Raw Unflavored mix really well into fruit smoothies without changing the flavor much. My trick is to blend it with banana, oat milk, and frozen berries (it masks any weird texture). There’s also a big spreadsheet floating around where you can [sort vegan protein powders by taste rating](https://www.reddit.com/user/Industrious_Bradly1/comments/1mv97y1/comparing_protein_powders_by_brand/) calories, price, and ingredients. It’s worth a look before buying another full tub that might end up half-used in the pantry.
I just use Naked Pea Protein because it has 1 ingredient: Pea Protein. I add flavor the old fashioned way: With by fresh fruit and either yogurt or nut butter for some fat and additional protein.
Naked, pea protein. Taste great. No filler. No soy.
This might be a hot take but I really like Huel Black as a protein supplement. It’s a little higher in calories than other protein powders but I find that is a small price to pay for the balanced macronutrient and vitamin profiles and the “stick-to-your-ribs” feeling that keeps me full for a while. I will sometimes throw in a scoop or two of Naked Pea protein powder with it to add more protein without adding a ton more calories. If you’re interested in a breakdown of the macros for Huel Black salted caramel flavor, I made a 5 minute video (fyi YouTube link 🔗) here: https://youtu.be/sACU1EOzwn0?si=7UdDK6WqCJqwTWCI
I use unflavored Naked Pea Protein powder. It’s only one ingredient. You still get a bit of a chalky taste in smoothies, but I feel like that’s common to most protein powder, and there’s really a lot of flavor. You can get a 15 serving jar on Amazon for $20 to see if you like it before committing to more.
Yea i buy the naked pea protein. Lab tested by third party to test for heavy metals.
Try a whey isolate and if that still gives you trouble you can try some plant based options like Naked Pea or fermented pea protein. Sprouts has a good vegan protein that seems to always be on sale too. I have a super sensitive stomach and none of these bother me. Collagen is also an option, I take it because it helps my skin and joints but you could argue it’s not a great standalone protein source.
I use Naked Pea Protein. It is unflavored and the only ingredient is pea protein!
