Am I too late? Also your post link isn’t working. 2 cent into the pot, Nutricost usually. Its really cheap to bulk buy and has all the usual stuff, I think similar formula to Wellah’s as far as labels are concerned. Its just really easy to put it into food, yk? Pancakes, waffles, any sweet breakfast food really cos it’s not chalky or too sweet. Linking the [strawberry milkshake flavour](https://ScopeHive.github.io/ventryx/?q=1TLR7M1102) here for a little oomph factor. Idk if it helps now that you’ve committed to one, stick to one brand for at least a month or so to figure out if it’s actually getting absorbed before switching up, ta!
There are a few facets to this: cost, calories, lead content. It's also worth noting that different products have different serving sizes, which each have differing protein and calorie content. It's difficult to compare across products, for that reason. I've been doing research on products and have settled on "per 100g protein" as a metric. Here are a few suggestions: * Cheapest: Nutricost Whey Protein Powder, $2.79 and 480 calories/100g protein. No lead testing. * With lead testing: Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard, $4.18 and 500 calories/100g protein, 1.2 mcg lead/100g protein (low) * Lowest calories: Isopure Zero Carb, $6.13 and 400 calories/100g protein. No lead testing. * With lead testing: Muscle Feast Grass-Fed, $6.10 and 423 calories/100g protein, 0 mcg lead/100g protein (very low) I hope this helps! If you'd like more detail about a particular product, or in general, let me know!
Bingo! This is the cheapest I've found - $2.79 per 100g of protein, and at the lower end of calories (480 calories per 100g protein).
Nutricost Whey Protein Powder is the cheapest that I've come across - 5 lbs container, 69 servings, 25g protein per serving, which makes it $2.79 for 100g protein.
not all protein powders are created equal tbh, the things that actually matter are protein per serving (at least 20-25g), the calorie to protein ratio, and how many servings u get per bag yk. some powders contain fillers and sugars which throws off the macros ngl. taste and aftertaste is also a biggie esp for bulk smoothies, some powders have a rlly chalky or artificial aftertaste that makes it hard to stay consistent imo. optimum nutrition gold standard is a solid rec. for something with a decent protein ratio and good flavor, something like [this nutricost one](https://dk5cnflyn7mcb.cloudfront.net/?q=reddit.FAQNode371/looking_for_a_good_p) is a rlly good option for the price. also, always check the ingredient list for artificial sweeteners esp if u're sensitive to them tbh.
Lol, I was going to recommend Nutricost too, as it meets all the requirements that you mentioned. The ingredients and gramage are all very consistent with the staying in lean goal. I did see that you ended up buying the unflavoured one. Maybe for your next run, you can try out the [strawberry one](https://dk5cnflyn7mcb.cloudfront.net/?q=GMKAO1257), it tastes much better.
tbh, taste + mixability are the things that make u wanna rebuy a protein powder, no point forcing down chalky shakes every day yk. i'd look for whey isolate > concentrate esp if ur stomach doesn't handle it, isolates digest wayy easier and have less lactose tbh. alsoo, do check protein per serving too, aim for like a good 20-25g, and servings per container so you're not constantly reordering yk. vanilla is usually the safest flavor, chocolate is kinda risky, strawberry tends to be hit or miss but something like [this nutricost one](https://d1vsa0evaa8kw9.cloudfront.net/?q=GMKAO4939) mixes pretty well, w/o leaving an aftertaste. also whichever protein powder u get, mix w half water half milk instead of just water, makes it creamier and way less watery. almond milk works great too if ur trying to keep calories lower yk.
Nutricost Vanilla Whey Protein. Absolutely delicious. Been on it for a year. Nothing has come close
To be fair, not many. 3 others. Ryse was okay, Ghost is ass, I forgot the brand but some kind of Hulk vanilla ice cream flavor, awful. Then I've also tried a few premixed like fair life protein and muscle milk and both are also ass. Just a weird after taste. The nutricost always breaks down good, has a good thickness, and no weird after taste.
This stuff is gross imo sorry
If you've ever tried to reach out to them to see the results from their third party testing you might feel differently. They completely refused to provide any information without a purchase order #, and even then some of the tests contained "proprietary information" and couldn't be shared. I did eventually get them to admit that if a batch of product has an unsafe amount of lead the most they will do is put a prop65 warning on it.
I'm well aware, which is why I ask companies for results. It is alarming/annoying/shady the degree for which nutricost hides their results.
I use nutricost too just because it's so damn cheap. That price is hard to beat. Is it the best? Idk. It's better than running out because I haven't got paid yet.
