Optimum nutrition creamy vanilla is the smoothest one I've ever tried. No chalkiness at all. Earthchimp has an unflavored and unsweetened one you might like. Plus it comes in a compostable bag.
Optimum nutrition vanilla plant protein. It’s delicious idk lol . I mix it in unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Vegan Gym has a video where they test 72 vegan protein powders. The only vanilla in the top 5 (and my fave too) is Optimum Nutrition's Plant Protein Creamy Vanilla.
Looks like a large firm (Glanbia) bought up these three companies: Optimum Nutrition (ON), Isopure, and Think. * **Think** → Facing a class action lawsuit over false labeling. [Source](https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/consumer-products/food/think-class-action-claims-protein-bars-falsely-advertised-as-containing-no-artificial-sweeteners/) * **ON** → They changed the formulation for their plant-based protein powder, and it tastes like shit now. Can personally confirm. [Discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/veganfitness/comments/xbnfbv/new_optimum_nutrition_plant_protein_formulawtf/) * **Isopure** → Also changed its formulation (seems like for the worse). To top it off, Glanbia tried to give their CFO a €750,000 “retention” bonus. They have a nice vegan version (I’m allergic to whey)
I really miss their natural protein powder they used to make, it tasted so much better.
I really like Optimum Nutrition - Chocolate, and Projym - Tahitian Vanilla. I double scoop both, and always mix with water and both are delicious. Projym is a mix of casein and whey proteins. ON is just whey.
I prefer the flavor of this to the ON chocolate. Do yourself a favor and get the pb fit powder. Add a teaspoon to your mix.
In my experience, vanilla protein powder is always awful. Flavors are all over the place with powders, and the safe bet has always been chocolate, but it still varies between brands. Optimum Nutrition's chocolate flavors are good and have been my choice for years, though my most recent purchase was a flavorless protein powder from Protein Factory, which is great, and is great for supplementing shakes, pancakes, yogurts, etc without making weird flavors. I might suggest keeping a bottle of chocolate syrup on standby until you go through it all, and powders are always better with milk however your body/.diet allows it.
Ascent by a mile. ON full of unnecessary ingredients harmful to gut health, two different kinds of artificial sweeteners including Sucralose which is just horrible. ON Chocolate Ingredients: Protein Blend (Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Hydrolyzed Whey Protein), Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Natural and **Artificial Flavor,** Sunflower And/Or **Soy Lecithin**, Salt, Creamer (**Sunflower Oil, Maltodextrin, Modified Food Starch**, Dipotassium Phosphate, Tricalcium Phosphate, Tocopherols), **Acesulfame Potassium**, **Sucralose**. Ascent Vanilla: Whey Protein Isolate Blend (Native Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate), Whey Protein Concentrate, Natural Flavors, Lecithin, Stevia Leaf Extract, Sea Salt. Also be aware that Cocoa has Theobromine which is a stimulant with longer half life than caffeine - if you are planning to consume in the evening then it can adversely affect sleep in sensitive folks
