Kind of bummed to learn my Orgain collagen peptide probiotic unflavored is high in lead content because I have a fresh new gigantic tub of it from Costco :( I'm not an everyday consumer, but I do consume supplements for my health not because they are a yummy treat. I recently had a DNA genetic study done on myself. Truly it has been a game changer implementing the changes gone over with the doctor in the 2-hour session analyzing the results. Increasing my protein intake was one of the conversations of a modification I need to make to my diet that would be beneficial. As somebody who eats primary vegetables consuming 60 g of protein a day as the doctor recommended has been a challenge. I am glad to become more informed about the supplement choices I am making and The Clean Label Project has been a helpful resource as well.
I like Orgain unflavored in my smoothie if I can find it, vanilla if I can’t. I like Bob’s Red Mill almond protein powder in my latte. Neither upset my digestive system.
I hear you!! I have struggled with same. Like others said, emphasize real food (eggs, tofu, kefir, shrimp, tuna, chicken, LF cottage cheese) and supplement if you are nauseous and can’t eat. I tolerate packaged shakes from Orgain and Nurri well, but can’t do Premier Protein or Oikos shakes… they just don’t sit well 🤷♀️. So an Orgain or Nurri shake is dessert if I’m not at my protein level for the day. I just started using Orgain Collagen with Peptides. It’s unflavored, 80 cals per scoop and packs 19g protein. They were sampling it at Costco. I mix it in my coffee or in a G- Zero Gatorade. I’m hoping it will improve my hair and nails as advertised! PS - no I don’t work for Orgain or Costco 😬
This is what I use in my green smoothies and I’ve also added it to overnight oats. I get either the Orgain Collagen Peptides or Vital Protein Collagen Peptides from Costco. Usually one or the other of them are on sale at any given time.
Highly recommend collagen powders. Orgain or vital protein usually in stock, one is actually on sale atm. They have no aftertaste, added sugar, and blend well (particularly in warm temperatures ie coffee)
Yes, agree no grittiness. It’s the best one I’ve found (dietitian here, tried pretty much all of them).
My clients report more skin and joint improvements with collagen peptides than any other protein power option. I have not seen this impact with whey.
Orgain collagen and protein- it dissolves very easily, and doesn't taste like anything- I like it much better than vital proteins, which doesn't dissolve as easily. I also drink nurri protein shakes- very light, and tastes good.
Yes, they used to carry the regular one years ago and then switched to the probiotic version, it gave me major stomach pains.
Orgain is my go to. Super lean and soy/dairy free which works for me. I just blend it with some of the fruit smoothie mix in the frozen isle and some creatine, and you have a great post workout shake.
