if you're willing to spend more, the premade Owyn drinks or orgain ones are decent. orgain you can get a flat of 18 (iirc) for $30 at Costco. they both have 20g protein, but the orgain is more of a meal replacement as well and has lots of nutrition which may make it a better option.

Orgain is my go to. Super lean and soy/dairy free which works for me. I just blend it with some of the fruit smoothie mix in the frozen isle and some creatine, and you have a great post workout shake.

Alternate Orgain Vegan and TL French Vanilla

Great. I use the TL in Overnight Oats mostly, sometimes in smoothies. It mixes better than the Orgain which is a little chalky.

Thanks far-midnight-97. I've been an athlete my whole life. Started off as a runner in my teenage years and then transitioned into cycling in my late '40s. Yes I've tried that brand Orgain. It's a good brand. One of the things I've been doing is having music in the background. Sometimes I even go so far as I have two sets of earbuds one earbud is listening to music that keeps me going where the other one is still listening to P90X or Body Beast or whatever character I'm listening to but at a lower volume and I sometimes put on closed captions because I know the routine so well. That's one thing that has definitely kept me motivated and keep pressing play. If there's background music that might help you not get too bored. Also recruit a fitness friend and do it together in the garage or some location that can fit all the equipment for fitness fun. And sometimes I don't wait a minute and a half or take as long a break as they do. I love Tony but sometimes he's a little too chit chatty. The Beast guy is a little too misogynistic but I deal with it because I know I'm getting a great workout! Mixing the two program sounds like a good idea. The other program I like is Dig Deeper.

I’ve been using orgain vegan protein. I don’t know offhand what it is but I don’t think it’s whey.

I’ve been on the same hunt for a vegan powder that doesn’t taste like chalk, so I feel your pain. If she’s already tried Vega and Good Protein, I’d try a few others that lean toward a milder flavor. OWYN, KOS Vanilla, and Orgain are usually safer bets taste-wise. If she really can’t handle the sweeteners or aftertaste, the unflavored options like Naked Pea or Garden of Life Raw Unflavored mix really well into fruit smoothies without changing the flavor much. My trick is to blend it with banana, oat milk, and frozen berries (it masks any weird texture). There’s also a big spreadsheet floating around where you can [sort vegan protein powders by taste rating](https://www.reddit.com/user/Industrious_Bradly1/comments/1mv97y1/comparing_protein_powders_by_brand/) calories, price, and ingredients. It’s worth a look before buying another full tub that might end up half-used in the pantry.

Agreed. When I read the consumer reports thing about the powder I take, Orgain (a vegan powder), I immediately got my blood tested because the report said you should only have it 4x per week and I was taking Orgain 7+ times per week. The CDC uses a 3.5 micrograms of lead per deciliter of blood as a threshold to identify children that need medical follow up work. I'm a grown adult and I had only 1 µg/l in my blood after about 5 years of using this powder 7x per week among many other fruits and veggies in my diet that probably also have lead. Also, the average US person has at least 1.5µg/l so I'm already below average. So i'm just not convinced it's that bad. Of course there's NO safe level, but I don't think it's cause for alarm personally.
