I buy pvl isogold and normally just the triple chocolate . It has artificial sugar but I rather that than terrible gas

If you're in Canada, I really like the IsoGold Chocolate. Very easy to drink with water, dissolves easily and tastes great. 27 grams of protein per scoop I believe. A little expensive at $120 for 2.2kg (5lbs) though.

You can make any of them thick if you put just a little liquid ! I’ve been using PVL iso gold lately but it is quite sweet (with sucralose) just because I got a good deal on Black Friday. A lot are similar tbh

It isn’t a Whey Isolate, so you’re getting more lactose and less grams of protein per scoop (24 instead of usually ~27g). I’d spend the extra money to get the higher quality stuff that actually has more protein in it (+15%). But if you’re on a budget and don’t care, it’s a good enough whey protein. I’m using PVL ISO Gold and love it, buddy uses Diesel and swears by that one. Two recommended high quality Canadian brands. Hope that helps a bit.

Valid question. I love the PVL isogold triple milk chocolate but I think it may only be available in Canada.

r/ninjacreamiClean protein + flavors that actually work in Ninja Creami?

I use isogold whey isolate in mine. I don't like their vanilla milkshake flavor for making vanilla ice cream, but it's acceptable as a filler if you are adding other flavors and have nothing else. I would actually recommend their ice cream cookie sandwich flavor for making vanilla ice cream. I did a side by side test and found that when everything else was the same, the vanilla milkshake flavor was too salty, while my other options were not. I do use 1/4 tsp salt in my mixes, but none of the other ones have tasted salty. The salt is supposed to bring out the sweetness. I'll have to try the natural vanilla flavor when I get low on powder. Chocolate milkshake and iced mocha cappuccino are both good options. I find the strawberry is a little on the weak side, even when adding fresh strawberries. Maybe I'm just not a big strawberry fan, I don't know.

Me either. In fact, I only really noticed it when going side by side with a few other options that I was using to compare. That's when I figured out the ice cream cookie sandwich was a better choice.

Do the iso protein mix well for you? I got a 6lb tub and it clumps. I had diesel iso before and it smooth

My recommendation is PVL Isogold. They sell it at Popeyes and it’s all Canadian and lactose free! I’ve been using them for years and I haven’t had a protein fart in about that time.

I just shake the hell out of it. No clumps. PVL is my ride or die. I didn’t care for the taste of diesel.

r/runninglifestyleTalk to me about protein. Do you use protein powder? Does it make a difference? Are there brands you like?

Talk to me about protein - It is one of three macronutrients, the other two being fat and carbs. Of the macronutrients protein is the only one to have nitrogen which is required for several processes in the body, tissue repair and building being the one that makes it really popular. Proteins are composed of amino acids, when your body digests a protein it breaks it down into its constituent amino acids and distributes them to various organs as needed for their functions. Some amino acids your body can make from other inputs in your diet, son it cannot. The ones it cannot are called essential, as it is essential that you get them from your diet. Do you use protein powder - Yes. Does it make a difference - I can’t answer this from a running perspective because I was already using it before i started. From a financial perspective, it tends to be more affordable to hit my protein targets having at least one protein shake a day than trying to get it all from food. Are there brands you like - I tend to stick with what is on sale. I buy in bulk as my wife and I go through it fairly quickly. Am really happy with PVL isogold.
