I used to get this stuff but I now just spend $5 more and get the Revolution Nutrition High Whey protein on Amazon. Has some of the most delicious flavours I've ever had in a protein shake.
>But it’s inferior protein. Lol on paper maybe, but it gets the job done and tastes much better so I'm happy.
Like I said - on paper. It tastes much better and yields the same results for me, so I couldn't care less. I'll pay the $5 extra for deliciousness.
>How would you know that the results would be the same? Been around a while and I have tried both. >If you’re cool with concentrate which I am, there are far more economical options. Sure, but this has by far the best tasting protein I have ever had. >But probably not one I’d be endorsing. I wasn't asking you to endorse it - I was merely explaining why I think it's worth the extra $5 compared to Gold Standard. Basically it tastes better and it works the same.
Hard to beat the LeanFit for value especially when it's on sale at Costco. I too simply take my shakes with just powder and water. I'm currently using Revolution High Whey. They're also Canadian and the taste is unbelievably good. I've got the Chocolate Banana Cream Pie flavor and it tastes like an actual banana split. BUT, it's almost 100 bucks for 6lbs on Amazon. If cost is top priority then LeanFit for the win. If taste is, then try Revolution. Walmart sells it for a decent price to try out but only has the basic vanilla and chocolate flavors, still really good though.
Night and day difference in taste. I'm currently using the chocolate banana cream pie flavor and it's the best thing I've ever tasted for a protein powder. I add a table spoon of chocolate powder and blend it over ice and it's a real tasty treat.
Six Star used to amino acid spike their protein powders. They changed the newer formula. Look at the ingredients list. If you see L-something or reference to amino acid complex or whatever, you know its spiked. They do add maltodextrin to their powders. Which is extra carbs you don't need but if you are bulking and the price of this powder is cheaper per gram of protein than the others, it can be useful to you for your bulk still. I used to use Six Star a few times during my first bulk. Six Star isn't bad. But I prefer the taste of Revolution Nutrition's (Canadian brand) High Whey line for bulking. Unfortunately a lot of their High Whey powders are very messy. Pure Protein last I checked doesn't amino acid spike their shit. They use Maltodextrin. I recall their chocolate powder tasted good when I bought it a couple years ago. Good for bulking. But if you are cutting and want a higher calories from protein %, look elsewhere. Personally I feel Optimum Nutrition is a waste of money. If you have the disposable income to burn, go for it. You can't go wrong. Personally I care more about trying out new flavours and ideally a good calories from protein %. As I like to mix whey in with porridges, Greek Yogurt and such. And will be making whey protein pancakes and that sorta thing. But yes the chocolate Optimum Nutrition powder (and I think their vanilla probably tastes good too) is tried and true.
I like fairlife core power, revolution high whey vanilla cake and chocolate cake, and cookies n cream premier protein. Basically the only three I'll drink.
I am really picky with the protein powder taste and I really like Revolution Nutrition's chocolate cake and vanilla cake flavours. I've used both the High Whey and Iso Whey formulas, I mix them with water and ice in a shaker bottle and I've never had any grittiness. The churros flavour was also decent (cinnamony) and the strawberry shortcake was also good but I get sick of it faster. Ships from Montreal.
I mix it with water and ice in a shaker bottle and shake the crap out of it, and I find it creamy but not too creamy. I actually add more water than the instructions ask for and end up with a consistency like chocolate milk. That's actually a plus for me, I hate thick shakes.
I really like revolution-nutrition.com They have a bulk whey protein concentrate sale on now for $120CAD for 10lbs. And their whey protein isolate is $370 for 22lbs. Their chocolate and vanilla combined make a really nice mocha flavour. And free shipping, free creatine over $150 spent, free high whey 2lb over $200, and free $50 gift card over $300 spent. I'm stocked up on whey for a while now, but what I did was buy 10lbs of both concentrate flavours, and then spent another $60 on creatine and pre-workout to get to their $300 deal.
I have tried quite a few of their flavors! My favs right now are mint chocolate chip ice cream and strawberry shortcake. I’ve also tried: peanut butter cup, maple donut, churros, caramel ice Capp, chocolate cream egg, and vanilla cake. I would say the maple donut, vanilla and chocolate cream egg also make good creamis but I didn’t love the ice Capp and peanut butter cup. I do love the ice Capp just mixed with ice and water, just lost a little flavor when I made it into a creami. Probably with added coffee it would be good. All of them also make an excellent pancake as well 😂

I'll second Revolution Nutrition. I've been having their Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and its great to mix with some lactose free high protein milk. Getting 43g of protein from one shake has been a great boost to my intake. You can get a 6lb bag off amazon for $95 which is a pretty good deal. If you're lactose intolerant you'll probably want to get whey protein isolate, not concentrate. Isolate will have less, but still some, lactose. Or get a plant based protein which should have no lactose.
High Whey by revolution nutrition is tits! 73 servings for about 60 bucks and every flavor I've had is delicious. Takes about 8 to 10 days for shipping to US as it's coming from Canada.
High Whey from Revolution nutrition is the best protein powder I've tried and pretty easy on the wallet. I get 6lb or 73 servings for about 60 bucks. They have a lot of good flavors to choose from including white chocolate macadamia, strawberry shortcake, iced cappuccino and pistachio ice cream just to name a few. Shipping takes a bit to US because it comes from Canada and takes a couple days to clear customs but it's my go-to.
How’s the taste of the LeanFit compared to revolution high whey? I typically buy that (chocolate cake) and agree the taste is extremely good but the pricing is significantly better for LeanFit at the moment
