Welcome to the confusing world of protein supplements. Remember protein bars are just candy bars with some added protein. Pea protein is often marketed as Vegan protein. These are brands like Vega Sport, etc. There was a consumer report recently about a lot of these being [high in lead](https://www.consumerreports.org/lead/protein-powders-and-shakes-contain-high-levels-of-lead-a4206364640/) of all things. So caution, there. Whey is often the best bang for your buck, but it can also cause digestive issues in people with lactose intolerance - the isolates are better, but you pay a premium for them. Additionally you want to watch for additives: you may have concerns about added sugars, sweeteners, carbs, etc. Some of these are actually "meal replacements" and not just "protein powders" so they have a lot more calories and carbs than others, and if that's what you're looking for, great. If not, you'll be ticked. Check the label before buying! You also will also probably find out the hard way about which sweeteners you don't like. Some people are sensitive to sucralose, Stevia is a healthy alternate but it's CRAZY sweet and almost unnaturally so. You've indicated taste is a concern for you, but that's totally subjective, so you need either provide more info, or just get out there and try. Proteins are sold everywhere - grocery stores, Walmart, GNC, online, so my recommendation is to go somewhere where they're going to have samples and someone is able to answer your questions. GNC, Popeyes are likely to help you out there. If you decide not to try samples, buy the smallest option until you've found one you like. They typically get cheaper the more you buy. Once you find something you like, you can then search for a better price at another store location, as well. Otherwise, you can end up with a cupboard full of semi full containers of product you don't particularly like. I've bought [unflavored protein isolate in bulk from Revolution Nutrition](https://revolution-nutrition.com/product/unflavored-whey-protein-isolate?sku=11022016) and I really like it 1:1 with another protein that's sweeter, not only does it boost the total protein, but it takes some of the super sweet out of the shake which I like (and it's not sold in a giant half full plastic container to pollute the environment - WHY are we still doing this, manufacturers?!). You can also bake with powders; I find the real sweet ones actually work in favor here for baked goods. Sorry for the novel.
I use either Canadian Protein or Revolution, bulk order whey Isolate
Hey guys - I bought the isolate (cookie dough & peanut butter) from the website. Overall, I'm kinda disappointed in the flavor and texture. It's not sweet at all (sometimes I add sweetner). I typically try and make a "protein drip" for my cream of rice, but this stuff is very hard to mix correctly. Not sure if anyone has the same issue. Seen the Costco deal a few weeks ago - great value but not sure if I want to take another chance
This price is for 2 x 2.27 kg, which is HALF the price on Revolution Nutrition’s website. I prefer the Isolate, but I can’t pass up this kind of deal.
That’s called fractional reserve lending, inflation is rampant everywhere thanks to the incompetence of government officials and their economic polices as well as quantitative easing.
It’s pretty gross, vanilla is nice
I buy in bulk and Revolution is what I switched to back in April. Deals on par with Myprotein, good quality, and you can order 22 lbs at a time.
