Eating plant based so I use 1 scoop Sun Warrior unflavored classic which is one ingredient: fermented brown rice powder and a 1/4c organic vital wheat gluten. Comes out to just over 40g protein. I mix with fruit & Celtic sea salt. (Yes I know, uncooked flour...)
I use 1 scoop Sunwarrior classic unflavored protein powder + 1/4 cup Anthonys organic vital wheat gluten + 1 Tbsp each: organic cacao, Masienda heirloom corn masa, regenerative organic can sugar, pinch of celtic sea salt & shake in a glass jar with a shaker ball. I chase it with a tsp of low temp dried spirulina for extra amino acids.
Sun warrior unflavored brown rice protein is excellent and unnoticeable texture added to items. I use it in oatmeal in the AM. But I have put it in protein peanut butter balls and various items. The rice aspect of it means that, with a few minutes of soaking into a recipe, it's very effective.
Sunwarrior classic unflavored. Protein derived from fermented rice, and nothing else.
I have a sensitive belly so I have Sunwarrior classic. I also want to try an unflavored rice protein isolate, but I cbf making smoothies
I really like Sun Warrior. The old formula is lower protein but also lower calorie. The new formula is higher in both but still a good ratio (120 cal for 21g protein) and blends much better. I mix it into coffee. I find the bitterness of coffee helps balance how sickly sweet many protein powders can be. I got a sample of KOS protein powders online free if I paid shipping. I only tried the vanilla so far and it was sweet but I liked it, maybe more an after dinner shake than a morning one. In Canada, the VitaPlus brand of vegan protein powder is chalky but decent. You can get single serving packs to try which I appreciate.
I’m all in on the warrior blend. Classic is also fine, I don’t notice much difference in taste. Just avoid the collagen line, the flavors are nasty af
Im a fan of Sunwarrior but I have t tried the new formulation yet.
This is what I use. I usually add a cup of unsweetened soy milk (extra 8 grams of protein) and 2 cups of berries.
I’m guessing you’ve had Fairlife. I like how they taste; but I could totally see you thinking it tastes like a melted milkshake. Maybe you could try plant based shakes instead? I didn’t love OWYN, but it didn’t taste like a milkshake lol. For protein powder I use vanilla Sunwarrior (also plant based) and it’s great in smoothies.
Could be sugar alcohols/sweetener or all that protein at once. Try a smaller portion and gradually increase. I like the unsweetened Sun warrior brand. Affordable to order online direct from them.
