Based on 1 year's data from Mar 22, 2026 How it works
Have tried Nakpro, Naturaltein, Cosmix, Happycultures, Mavia, Yogabar, Nutrabay, Aceblend and also tasted TWT
I'd say try for the sample packs u get it on Blinkit to make the best decision. I really liked Mavia and happycultures (provided you get them at the right price) Nakpro Vanilla plant protein is really good, esp with yoghurt, honey and berries. TWT chocolate was good but I'd never pay that much price for a plant Protein Naturaltein plant protein is okay, not bad, chocolate flavour is good Superyou coffee is decent. There are actually so many of them which I've tried but can't even remember now
I ordered this today! I usually have the whole truth double cacao (which tastes pretty great honestly) but it was out of stock for some reason so giving this a shot!
Muscle nectar mango flavour clears all these protein powders, even better than twt badam pista by a bit
Get the single serve pouch from Amazon. I did not like the taste - felt like a pharma product.
Im also trying to increase protein intake and honestly protein powders are helping so much 😭 but im still hesitant to try whey proteins because i easily get digestive issues. Heres few ones i tried so far - Cosmix : I tried all the sachet versions of their almost all theirs flavors that was available on blinkit I only liked Indonesian cacao and chikamaglur mocha. Honestly drinking their protein powder with water doesn't taste that great but is manageable to drink when I use milk and doesn't make me hungry easily. Mille : This is the best one I have tried in terms of the consistency and taste. Like cosmix it's not chalky and also manages to keep me full for long like I took one scoop with oats at around 9:00am everyday and wasn't hungry till 1:30 pm The whole truth : I tried the cold coffee and taste wise I feel is similar to cosmix but doesn't keep me full like how Mille did. Happy Cultures : This too I tried the pack that had all their flavors in one box and I honestly liked all of them. Taste wise not like cosmix but not as good as the one from Mille. Currently trying cosmix pro and honestly don't see any difference between their normal ones and I also plan to try one from super you and yogabar just once but if these two turn out to be similar to cosmix then I'm going to stop experimenting and stick to the one from Mille because that is the one I like the best I terms of taste ( because there's only two options unflavored and coffee) and I love them both. And I'm in same situation with respect to milk im also currently in hostel with no access to induction 😭 so I buy the lactose free milk from Amul or their taza small tetra pack of 200ml and if not available i try to find tetra packs of any brand that doesn't require any refrigerator to store. For lunch I try to include Greek yogurt if not everyday atleast alternate day . At night since someday I have time to experiment and eat I try to buy chicken or cook soya chunks but some days I just make a sprouts chat salad and call it a day.
1)Add a bit of peanut butter. Oils in peanut butter break down the foam. (similar problem occurs with whole truth protein when mixed with milk in blender. So i add PB to it so that no foam is created) 2) You can hold the bottle in between your palms and roll it instead of shaking, it will create much less foam.
**Any good brand protein that suits your body. Stop listening to fitness influencers saying this protein if the best and that is the worst.** For example, the Whole Truth protein did not suit my body but Muscleblaze biozyme did. So the took the latter. Does that mean the whole truth is bad? Nopes. Just listen to your body and you are good to go.
Recently switched to wholetruth from on, since prices are almost similar.
Amazing post. Well done OP! I currently use YogaBar Pro Clean, it's unflavored, very light, mixes very well, and tastes good. You get 1 KG for 1600-2000 on quick commerce. To me, it's better than TWT, which gave me stomach issues (probably the enzyme mix). Tried Cosmix just once, but man, the chocolate flavor is sickeningly sweet. Didn't like it at all.
I have seen that most folks not really interested in the technical details, they are more focused on figuring out whats best for their particular needs. I have compiled a list of the major brands (ON, Avvatar, Amul, MuscleBlaze etc) and categorized them by use case. **"Best Value for Money" TIER** You want protein that works and passes checks, but you don't want to spend Rs3000. * Nakpro Platinum Whey Isolate * Price: \~Rs1550 (0.5kg) * Why: This is mathematically the cheapest Isolate in India right now. Most isolates cost Rs4000+, so getting one for under Rs1600 is insane value. It mixes decent enough but you are strictly paying for the protein content not a premium milkshake experience. * Best For: Students who need the highest protein percentage for the lowest possible rupee. * As-It-Is ATOM (Double Rich Chocolate) * Price: \~Rs2300 * Why: It is USA Labdoor Certified(which is a huge trust marker) and includes DigeZyme enzymes so it doesn't bloat you like cheaper raw wheys might. It costs a bit more than other low budget whey, but the taste and digestion are much better. * Best For: Beginners who want a certified, trustable brand without spending international prices. * Amul Whey Protein (Lactose Free) * Price: Rs2000 (Pack of 30 sachets) * Why: It is arguably the highest quality raw whey because it is 100% Native Whey (extracted directly from milk, not cheese byproduct). It is Lactose Free by default. The only catch? It tastes like milky water and is always sold out. * Best For: Purists who want the cleanest protein possible and have the patience to hunt for stock. **"Digestion & Lactose Issues" TIER** For people who get gas, bloating, or acne from regular whey. * MuscleBlaze Biozyme Performance Whey * Price: \~Rs2650 * Why: This is the only Indian protein that is actually Clinically Tested for 50% higher absorption. They patented an enzyme blend specifically for Indian digestion. If other proteins make you bloated or gassy, this is the safest bet because your body absorbs more of it instead of letting it sit in your gut. * Best For: People with sensitive stomachs who want whey but are scared of the bloating. * Isopure Low Carb Isolate * Price: \~Rs4990 * Why: This is the best of isolates. It is 100% Whey Protein Isolate with virtually zero carbs and zero fillers. It is incredibly expensive (nearly 5k), but it is the cleanest, lightest protein you can buy. It mixes clear and has no lactose to upset your stomach. * Best For: Severe lactose intolerance, Keto dieters, or people with a high budget who want zero bloat. * Cosmix (Plant Protein) * Price: \~Rs1995 * Why: If you absolutely cannot do dairy, this is a No Nonsense plant protein that actually tastes decent (like the Mahabaleshwar Strawberry flavor). It is specifically marketed as Gut Friendly because it lacks the gums and heavy thickeners that make other vegan proteins taste like mud. * Best For: Vegans or people with severe dairy allergies who want a clean label. **"No Chemicals/Additives" TIER** You read the label and hate seeing Sucralose, Xanthan Gum, or Artificial Flavors. * The Whole Truth (TWT) * Price: \~Rs3400 (Flavored) * Why: They are obsessed with transparency. They don't just say No Added Sugar, they strictly use Monk Fruit instead of artificial sweeteners like sucralose. Their Light Cocoa flavor uses real cocoa and lists every single ingredient on the front. It is expensive, but it’s the only brand that promises Cleanest, Lightest Whey with zero chemicals. * Best For: Health conscious folks who have the budget and hate the chemical aftertaste of normal whey. * Avvatar Raw (Unflavored) * Price: \~Rs2600 * Why: It is the freshest option because it is Milked, Processed, and Packed within 24 hours. It has exactly ONE ingredient: Whey Protein Concentrate. No soy, no sugar, no flavors. You get full control to mix it with coffee or cocoa yourself. * Best For: Purists who want fresh, chemical free protein and can mix their own flavors. * Only Whats Needed (OWN) * Price: \~Rs2500 * Why: As the name suggests, they strictly put "Only What You Need." Their Cocoa Concentrate is simple: 24g protein per scoop, no artificial flavors, and no fillers. They test every batch for 7 critical parameters (heavy metals etc.) and keep the price very reasonable for a clean-label product. * Best For: Minimalists who want a clean label without paying TWT's premium price. **"Premium/International" TIER** You want brand value, consistent taste, and international reputation. * Dymatize ISO 100 Hydrolyzed * Price: \~Rs13699 (5 lbs / 2.3 kg) which is approx Rs5950 per kg. * Why: It is Hydrolyzed (pre-digested), meaning it absorbs faster than any other whey on this list. It is super filtered to remove excess carbs, fat and lactose. If you are a pro athlete or just want the absolute best recovery money can buy, this is it. * Best For: Pros, people with weak digestion who need fast absorption, or those who buy in bulk (5lbs). * Optimum Nutrition (ON) Gold Standard * Price: \~Rs6160 (1.7 kg) * Why: The industry standard. It works, tastes the same every time (Double Rich Chocolate is legendary), and has a massive global reputation. * Best For: People who want zero risk and consistent flavor. Note: Prices listed are approximate and change daily based on sales/offers. If you think another brand deserves to be on this list (or if you've had a bad experience with one of these) drop a comment below so we can keep this updated.
with 3500 budget u are actually in the premium range not budget lol. try the whole truth (twt). it uses zero gums or thickeners so it mixes super thin and doesn't sit heavy in the stomach at all. it fits your budget perfectly (~3400) and is the clean label. also avvatar is also good u can flavored one with this price point or add 600 more to get avvatar isorich (isolate) which is just pure protein
yogabar is actually really good pick for plant protein. it uses pea and rice blend giving u complete amino profile. also they sweeten it with monk fruit instead of artificial sweeteners like sucralose, which makes it way easier on the stomach
