Alternate Orgain Vegan and TL French Vanilla
Great. I use the TL in Overnight Oats mostly, sometimes in smoothies. It mixes better than the Orgain which is a little chalky.
Transparent Labs Plant Protein. Chocolate flavor is actually good, mixes clean, no grit. More expensive but worth it if taste matters to you
I am stage 4 patient with liver metastases. I am consuming organic vegan plant based protien powder from transparent labs.. i mix it with low fat organic Greek yogurt. I also take ensure. In my case, low protien diet caused edema ( swelling in legs and hands). Care team asksd me to consume more protien. i am consuming protien in every meal. Make sure to take creon with every meal.
They cost more but I like these because they’re not drowned in sodium or unnecessary ingredients. There’s some flavored ones that aren’t drowned in sodium or too many ingredients but they cost more. Next best thing is transparent labs I tried their rice pea chocolate blend it says vegan on the label, doesn’t really taste like sweet chocolate it has a coffee type flavor. Cheaper but double the sodium. There’s also the fact hemp would give more overall nutrition variety. I drink mine in soy milk, you could try making your own blend [link 1](https://www.amazon.com/Cantein-Chocolate/dp/B0C5PG5WM3/ref=sxin_35_pa_sp_phone_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.cfcad796-726f-4d0c-97f1-70959f4dfdbe%3Aamzn1.sym.cfcad796-726f-4d0c-97f1-70959f4dfdbe&crid=33AT93H0A3D22&cv_ct_cx=hemp+protein+powder&keywords=hemp+protein+powder&pd_rd_i=B0C5PG5WM3&pd_rd_r=4335833e-c81c-44ce-850c-2dee4a3e685f&pd_rd_w=09MoM&pd_rd_wg=xQvZx&pf_rd_p=cfcad796-726f-4d0c-97f1-70959f4dfdbe&pf_rd_r=TJQM7647598ACM5N7WPR&qid=1755187538&sprefix=hemp+prot%2Caps%2C138&sr=1-1-6024b2a3-78e4-4fed-8fed-e1613be3bcce-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&psc=1) [link 2](https://www.amazon.com/hemplete-Plant-Based-All-Natural-Ingredients-Sugar-Free/dp/B09NL97NNC/ref=mp_s_a_1_3_pp?crid=137BTEE89786K&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.TiG26NYg2p7bxFjZM0dDJV5OTfjaHTHdfVy2R0XLgVYJisMiaQ7eKowAzSf8FeuhJZVaPAmo6qeyeSR-dcjUqdda5-aocQzBgNB2xvazhE_xilX3c-EyZVcIarymt0z2gqKuUspkShgBV0REAZoQ3tTTZ4zDwtpnLfRqpq5W07JhKvqScKhwTBdYI_PIPZO2STTSnke4AfTMpYG-AjgDTg.OhTfBkZxEeFymgbtgvrkUwN2lRFgH8bLiUwMNUVrr0A&dib_tag=se&keywords=hemp+protein+powder&qid=1755187591&sprefix=hemp+protein+powder%2Chpc%2C206&sr=8-3)
Why do you want to start? Do you NEED the supplemental protein? Cus unfortunately a lot of them do have a chemically taste or just a horrible texture. You also just may be more sensitive to it than your friends. For example, my dad will make a protein shake and just mix it with a spoon and it's clumpy as hell and he has 0 issues with it. While I like the powder he uses, I cannot stand getting a clump in my mouth x_x But ultimately, there is some trial and error. I personally have liked Transparent Labs chocolate flavor because it's low ingredient and uses stevia instead of other artificial sweeteners, which I have issues with. Using milk and mixing in a shaker bottle help with the texture imo. I have also tried just plain whey (you can get that from bulk supplements). I've just mixed with milk, shaker bottle as well, and somehow, it foams up realllllly easily. But once it settles, it's just like a milkier milk with a little bit of whey tang. It's not super offensive, but it's not like an enjoyable drink. It's just something i'd chug. My favorite use of protein powder is getting something on the fruity side and mixing it into yoghurt. It helps with texture a lot imo. But overall, I tend to just eat more meat, eggs/egg whites, cottage cheese, etc rather than have protein shakes because I enjoy food more than shakes
The advice doesn't differ from men. I treat protein bars as candy bars tbh. A sweet treat that has high protein in it. My favorite ones honestly have shit protein per calorie BUT it doesn't use any artificial sweeteners. Premade protein shakes are a lazy treat for me as well. I mostly reserve them for when i'm gonna be away from home but want a protein shake with me. I'm not the biggest fan due to cost and artificial sweeteners. Protein powder I use less for shakes and more for flavoring yoghurt. Getting a shaker bottle helps with consistency, but it was just not something I enjoyed very much. I personally opted for a protein powder without artificial sweeteners (Transparent Labs is one example). I have also used just plain whey isolate (BulkSupplements), but remember, plain doesn't mean flavorless! --- So that being said, I try and avoid the artificial sweeteners because that's what I deem 'healthier'. Others may disagree and have no issues with them. Value for money is going to be protein powder way more than premade shakes or bars. But if you get the nicer brands, it's still gonna be pretty pricy. I compare cost by working out the price per 1g of protein. Then I also compare that cost to buying chicken breast. Most effective? Protein is protein. From a muscle building perspective, there's nothing different than having some chicken breast or having a protein shake. I prefer whole foods for majority/all of my protein intake on an average day. This comes with other nutrients as well, which I prefer.
Is the spoiled milk taste kind of a tangy flavor akin to plain yoghurt? Cus that just might be whey itself. I think some people just pick up on it more than others. I notice that tangy flavor, but my dad (having the same protein powder as me) has zero clue what i'm talking about. It could also be how you're tasting the flavoring/artificial sweeteners. I 2nd the other guy in that Transparent Labs is pretty good. I used their strawberry flavor for a bit in yoghurts. I will say it's quite strong on the flavor and sweetness. The vanilla and chocolate weren't nearly as strong. They do have a variety sample pack you can get to try out a few flavors first
i only drank this for like a decade but i recently tried transparent labs chocolate and it’s a billion times better… but shit is expensive ngl
