Forager Project protein shakes are the only ones I’ve found without fake sugar but I think they’re not available in a lot of places. And Vega Protein Made Simple for powder.
Its an extra step, but I've found the best solution is to use unflavored protein powder, and add my own flavor too it. Currently, I'm using isopure clear unflavored protein sticks in my iced coffee. It only has 10g of protein, but it blends really well into any beverage! Takes a minute or two of shaking, and it has a slightly salty flavor if you do it in plain water (because of the electrolytes). Its a little annoying, because it doesn't come in a bulk "jar" format, only on-the-go sticks. I've also tried Vega Plain and Simple vanilla, which tasted fine, but had a slightly chalky/filmy texture. I'm using it for baking until its gone. I'm working on trying isopure unflavored and tera's whey unflavored, as they had the highest reviews for texture I could find, but I have to wait for shipping.
Adding to say, if you're looking for a good "ready to drink" protein shake, the only two I've found easily available are bolthouse farms protein drinks and nesquick protein drinks. Both are high in sugar, so that could be a deal breaker. Nesquick is pretty affordable, but doesn't come in anything other than chocolate and vanilla (maybe strawberry, but I've never seen it.) Bolthouse farms is pricier, but comes in more varieties, and is delicious.
Vega “made simple” variety actually tastes good and is vegan (pea protein)
I like Vega’s Protein Made Simple, but it’s only 15g per serving. They have other ones with more protein but they all have Stevia which I can’t stand. All vegan. I also have bought Naked Pea in the past which is totally unsweetened but would be way too grainy in coffee! It also has a bit of a savory flavor (like peas). I mix it into overnight oats or smoothies but wouldn’t drink it in something less flavorful. I have mixed collagen powder into coffee before and it’s basically flavorless and has a nice texture, so that’s another option! It’s not actually a complete protein, though, so might not e what you’re looking for.
YES. It was the only one that I liked and now I can't stand it. I hate that it's one of the few that doesn't use fake sugar. It actually tasted good. Now it's just another trash protein powder. Some of us want to enjoy life, not just GANZ BRUH. Boo.
The opposite happened with me. Used to use Vega for the last year and a half. This new formula always gives me diarrhea now. Stopping immediately and looking for a new brand.
