I put Paleovalley unflavored bone broth protein powder in all my soups. I use Vital Protein chocolate protein powder and mix with greek yogurt, it's like a chocolate mousse dessert but it's a protein snack! I do like the taste of Premier Protein cookies and cream shakes, but some of the ingredients are linked to cancers and I am already fighting breast cancer so I stay away from those.
I like Vital Proteins - chocolate and PEScience -cookies/cream. Both can be bought on Amazon.
Fairlife is my favorite and I make a protein shake each morning with that, vital proteins (3 T), Naked Whey protein powder (1 T), 1/4 C Bob Mills Rolled Oats, Sun-Fiber (1 heaping T), and a splash of sugar-free coffee sweetener. The vital proteins is chocolate flavored and the Naked Whey is unflavored and all dissolves very well with a Ninja blender.
I use Vital’s chocolate collagen protein powder and mix it in with a frother every morning. Mixes great and tastes like a mocha. No lumps or anything although it does settle a bit if you leave it for too long.
I honestly love the vital proteins collagen chocolate powder. Not marketed as a protein powder I guess but I use it as one. It took me so long to find a protein powder that wasn’t offensively sweet when I first moved to the US. I put the vital proteins in my coffee in the morning and have it as a mocha - delicious
Vital proteins chocolate collagen is my favorite!
I agree. I’m intolerant to whey protein products, but not lactose intolerant. Premade protein shakes use milk protein concentrate/isolate which is an 80% casein/20% whey combination and I do just fine with that. Casein protein is fine too. Dairy is fine. But pure whey protein products (bars, powder) will upset my stomach for 2 days. Casein protein powder is more expensive though. And the protein powder I used to use that used milk protein isolate seems like it got discontinued or is being reformulated as I can’t purchase it anymore (Vital Proteins Performance powder). So I’ve switched to Muscle Milk Zero because they’re the only other brand I could find that uses milk protein and not just whey protein at a reasonable price. Working well. I also use premade protein shakes. From what I read about it, it’s due to the fast digesting nature of whey protein, the large amount hitting my guts at once messed me up. I even tried blunting it with food, psyllium husk, no go. Casein is slow digesting, and mixed with whey, you get a little fast digesting protein in a small amount and the rest being slow digesting. Another option is to buy a product of casein powder and a whey protein powder and mix them in that 80/20 ratio yourself.
I add Vanilla Vital Proteins collagen to my plain Greek yogurt; if I do that with a small amount of Bonne Maman fruit preserves it makes a really nice dessert.
i used the vital proteins from costco while pregnant. just ask your OB if you're not sure!
I just started using Vital Proteins in my coffee every morning. Game changer. I also can’t believe it took this long
