Ugh too many. Lol. Mainly roads here. Saucony Hurricane 24s for easy runs. Cushiony and supportive. Saucony Endorphin Speed 4s and Adidas Boston 12s for tempo and intervals. The ES4s have 220+ miles on them and are becoming less snappy so I started rotating the B12s in a few weeks ago. Adidas Adios Pro 4 for racing.

I’ve had the the Saucony ES4 and ES5 in my rotation and love my Adidas Adios Pro 4s.

While I am not training for a full marathon, I am prepping for a half, and also run in the EVO SLs. I did get a pair of AP4s and do find them comfortable for my long runs (\~12mi) in prep for the half coming up. I would say to go with the AP4s *but be sure to run in them a few times before your race* and at similar/close to race pace/distance. The golden rule, as they say, nothing new for race day.

If you're a heel striker definitely not the pro 4

Curious to check it out. Tried the pro 4 on and couldn’t dial the fit and the foam was softer than I would want, but I never ran them so hard to say how’d they’d feel. The 5 hopefully firms up slightly

Another vote for SC Elite v5. I am targeting 3:30 and originally planned to run in the Megablast, as with OP I was worried about how I’d find a carbon plate on my ankles having suffered with PTTD before. I got the SC Elite to race shorter distances, but found them so instantly comfortably and effectively I tested them on a 30k long run and I’ve no doubt they’re the shoe for me. I had previously tried on the Adios pro 4 and comfort wise there’s no comparison

I am aiming for 3:30 and running in the new balance supercomp v5 - they are my first race shoe and I am really surprised by how comfortable they are - I tried the Adios pro 4 and alphafly on but the alphafly felt too aggressive and I didn’t find the Adios pro 4 comfortable enough to wear for 3hrs+ I have done 2 x long runs with marathon pace efforts in the supercomp elite v5 with no issues. I know the geometry of the shoe isnt going to suit everyone hut ive found the plate and foam do more than enough for me while still remaining fun and comfortable

Try the Adidas Evo SL, it is fairly soft and bouncy. If you want the same sort of foam as in the More, go with the NB 1080. If you really just like the More, which is a fine shoe though very heavy and slow, try the new More v6. The new Asics Megablast may also work for you, it is softer than the Superblast. You could also try the Puma MagMax and Mizuno NeoVista2. In general I would go to a store and just try things on. Look for a shoe with a good stack height, no plate, and try in particular A-TPU. I would also suggest you try the Adidas Adizero Pro 4, which is a very soft foam, and has rods, not plates. You may not have the pain with just the rods. This is a less stable shoe though, so it may or may not work for you.

I had both and ran several marathons in the AP3 and one in the AP4. The AP3 felt faster, but the AP4 was more comfortable and my times are more reflective of my training at the time than the shoes. Either is great for a marathon.

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksIf you could only use one running shoe brand, which would it be?

I wear a lot of Saucony shoes — Kinvara, Endorphin Speed, Endorphin Pro; I even have a pair of Endorphin Trails. However, I love the Adidas Adios Pro line. They’ve been my go to for race shoes for the last 3 years. That would be hard to give up.

Buy them both, you'll love them. Yes, the pro 4 is more limited compared to the evo sl, but you'll be super happy with them, as they are super fast, light, breathable while evo sl would be the jack of so many trades (except for long runs, imo)

They all different and it’s more like a personal preference. Someone likes Nike AF, but I can’t even walk in these as one seam is rubbing my leg so bad. You really need to try a few to choose. I would order on Amazon 4-5 different shoes and return all except one. Even manufacturers are offering 60-90 days free returns from official website these days. My personal preference: 1) New Balance SC Elite v5 2) Adidas Adizero Pro 4

I really like these and the evos. It’s weird but the Bostons were too narrow for me
