I’m 6’5 230lbs I ran a 3:45 with the Prime X3 We are heavy and we put a lot of force in the shoes The Prime X with the double plate will give you that extra bounce. Now they are a bit heavier but it’s a good trade off Prime X2 are more stable but I loved them both It depends of how much you want to spend NB sc elite v4 Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 Alphafly 3 Are really good options

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksHeavy-ish new runner (6’2”, ~90kg) with wide forefoot — Adizero SL2 or Boston 12 for tempo work / rotation with New Balance 1080 v14?

107kg Boston 12 user, recently picked up a 2nd pair once the first pair retires. For heavier runners, the B12 midsole feels great underfoot for easy and tempo paces. I also have two pairs of Prime Strung X2 for longer or faster efforts. Great time to buy the older models now.

PX2 is so great tbh it lasts forever. I got my first on launch like 2 years ago and the foam feels as good as new even with over 1000km of use

3 layers of foam and 2 plates in the shoe, there’s no way you could ever expect it to be soft That said, if apply enough force in your strides they will feel great

1. Owned a pair of these prime strung 2 shoes for well over a year, and while I really like them for tempo runs and they feel very stable (as long as you are on very flat ground) I had two issues. First the laces are thin so can sometimes be felt on top of the foot. Second, the insole is so smooth that it is slippery making the foot slide a bit if the road slants. Got some serrated laces and replaced the insoles with a pair from my retired trail shoes. Very happy with the results. This shoe stretches a bit over time and forms to your foot, it is now going into my long run rotation. https://preview.redd.it/9uz4te4i6vkg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7455a22fd9f8bd7a9d6b5c5483297a3076ad7807 2. Owned a pair of evo sl for around 4 months and also used it as a bit of a tempo shoe on hilly roads. When I first got it it felt so firm that I didn’t understand the hype around this shoe (had to put a softer insole at first). However after around 50 miles it started feeling fantastic. Then around 300 miles it started feeling a bit too soft and I started noticing some inside of heel foam wear (downhills make me a bit more heel heavy ). I also wish it had a more of a rocker in the heel’s middle+medial side, it’s only raised on the lateral side Since I always loved shoes with a midfoot hump like the nike zegama (and some altra/topo) which I feel offloads pressure from the forefoot, rather than retiring these evo sls, I wanted to see if I could do something about it. I decided to fill in the triangular medial foam indentation in the middle of the outsole under the arch with shoe goo (several layers to allow it to dry) and really liked the results (takes around 48hrs to dry). Then after a few days I also had a piece of thin outsole rubber and decided to stick that on too but this is not necessary. The final result is a slightly more stable shoe with more arch support, and I think it probably works because it provides some medial support to the plastic shank which then covers a broader area of the foot. It seems that the soon to be released terrex version of the evo sl doesn’t have a medial cut so hopefully that works a bit better although I wish they did this for the woven revision too.

Way better than both, once you get under I’d say a 9min mile they feel great, and the extra bounce, they probably keep my heart rate 5-6 bpm lower at the same pace than any other shoe I own

How heavy are you? I’m 205 and they feel AMAZING compared to ap3 and Boston 12

This. The most 'enjoyable' shoe. Puts a smile on my face every time I go for a run. Up to 32km I don't feel the weight. After that it shows a bit.

I ran my first marathon last year in 3:40 using the Prime X2 Strung. Really enjoyed the ride.

Another vote for this option, and I’ve got the same road shoe lineup that you do (plus the B12). PXS2 is magic on long easy runs.

r/AskRunningShoeGeeks2 Shoe Rotation with Vomero Plus

If you can find some Adidas Prime X Strung 2’s (I went through 2 pairs) on sale somewhere, that would be a great shoe to pair with the Vomero + (which I have and love). I also have the Evo SL, but at your size I think the PXS2 would be great. Good luck on your search.

Adidas. Adizero line for road and Terrex Agravic Speed line for trails. Got all my bases covered.

I just got the Adizero prime x2 strung. It’s a nice longrun trainer that can be used for tempo runs.
