I recently got my hands on an a Prime X Strung, OG version. My god, I am at a loss of words for the shoe. I am holding myself back at a shoe After soc, so long. The guy had one more in stock, in the same size. I will buy that one too. Tomorrow is a 20K day with some subthreshold work. Safe to say I am excited for the run compared to a weekend of love making lol

To be honest I don’t like shoes with cutouts. With this one, I need to change my stepping a bit and go on my forefoot more. I haven’t used them for slower paces for myself. Usually faster than 4:30/km apart from warmups. They do give that feeling for rolling the ankles. I try not to prefer roads with sudden turns etc with them. It’s a price I am willing to pay for what it’s worth though.

Both great shoes, two different use cases. Hyperboost - fun, energetic, light- epic for long runs with the extra kick when you need it. Adizero Prime X Strung - built for running economy and fresh legs after hard progressive long runs - if you go out long and hard.

It’s 10x bouncier and more cushy than the B12. Upper is a lot better too. The b12 hurt the soles of my feet so I sold them, but I have 200 miles in my PXS2s. They are fantastic.

I think the PXS2 is a cheat shoe, but not because you can run incredibly fast in it. The weight is very noticeable and accumulates for every stride you take. The longer the distance, the more you lift your legs and the more weight you end up carrying. However, as a training shoe into a marathon it is definitely a cheat shoe. I can run 15k tempo runs in PXS2 and not feel anything in my legs. If I just stay a bit on top of my stride, working with the plates and geometry of the shoe then I just float at 4.20-4.40 min/km paces. If you do decide to use another shoe in competition you have to train with another shoe than the PXS as well. It does a lot of running «for you» and you lose a lot of the durability training you would get in another (lighter) shoe (but you can probably run more in the PXS). If you have the money for it, try and see for yourself. I think the PXS gives you a very high floor, but if you want to chase the higher ceiling you should train more in neutral shoes and do your races in a more race oriented shoe.

adios pro 3, prime X strung 1 or 2, cielo x1, evo sl, are some of my favourites for long runs with MP in them. I have superblast 2 but just feels like too much shoe for me at MP (feels like wearing snowshoes some days). I am also 180lbs

This, but I’d take v1 or v3. V2 is the most stable option, but if you’re neutral with no stability concerns v1 and v3 have more energy return imo. I’ve run 35mi before in v1 and they felt great throughout, never bottomed out.

The OG Prime X Strung is currently more popular and even more expensive than its successors. Adidas should respond to this and adapt the V4 to be similar closer to the V1.

Theyre nuts, like trampolins strapped to the foot. Find them very wobbly at slower speeds though. Do you run on camberd roads at all? Feel like they could roll my ankle at any moment

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksDo I need a stability shoe, every time I go into a store they say I need one but I don’t have any pain or injuries running in the boston 12 and novablast (the soft foam does increase my over pronation)

Don't listen to store reps. They are usually not educated in biomechanics or physiotherapy, and they need to sell those stability shoes to someone. I pronate way more than you and I don't use stability shoes. I use, however, custom orthotics if my ankles get too tight after long runs. Do strength training and try to stay away from full stack height, risky shoes with less support, like Prime X Strung. Boston 12s are fine but Novablasts gave me inner knee pain after 250 kms or so, so I had to ditch them. They don't feel unstable on foot when walking but the thing is the foam doesn't have any support at the back, which caused me to pronate heavily with my entire foot turning inwards. This may be my experience only but for me they were the worst shoes for my pronation. So watch out how they will feel.

It took me about 50 miles to love the super superblast 2. Other than that, I use prime X strung 1. Got 2 pairs on sale and I really like them
