I love the SL, but I wouldn’t recommend the evo sl for track workouts. I’m a lighter runner, and even for me there’s not enough stability, especially on the turns when doing fast intervals. I use the Takumi Sen 10 and ap3 for track/tempo. If I was to do one shoe I’d probably use the ap4, or maybe the new Takumi Sen 11.

Dont worry about those time claims. If they feel great for you, buy them. I have several pairs and use the from everything from 5k races to half marathon long runs. my marathon time is currently estimated above 4 hours with a 2 hour half marathon record. The only shoes I will choose over the AP4 are the Pro Ovo 1 and 2 which are supposed to be for even faster runners. For me, I want the most premium foam I can buy if I am going to be running 2 to 4 hours. I started buying adidas shoes with the Takumi Sen 10 (supposedly for 5k) and Adios Pro 3. I was unstable on the Takumi Sen 10 at about 210lb mass but the AP3 was great and I used them for everything from 1 mile jogs to 5k runs. I have dialed back my carbon plate adoption by picking up some Evo SL and Nike Vomero premium pairs for training, but I will still run 5Ks on my AP4

I have the Takumi Sen 10 and while I have shoes I like better (Hoka Rocket X2), my PB on the 10K is in the TS10s.

Hello I can’t seem to find a nice and slightly durable (probably can last 600k? or 1-2 seasons of workouts) shoe for longer track workouts. This pair will be used for the long tempos (3:45/k), intervals, and reps down to 5K pace at around 3:00-3:05/k. It doesn’t need to have a plate but I hope for some kind of pep in step and bounce with some firmness for the faster reps. I have tried these shoes: 1. Nike Vaporfly 2 - Firm and nice cushioning. I really like these but the shoe falls apart really easily in my humid country. Rain shreds the sides of the midsole. 2. Nike Vaporfly 3 - Same as VF2 but softer cushioning. I really prefer this shoe for my workouts but the shoe fails really easy. 3. Asics Magic Speed 3 - Felt overly firm (which I don’t really enjoy) but fast reps feel nice. 4. Li-Ning Feidian 5 Challenger - Slightly better than the Magic Speed 3 in terms of cushioning but hoped for more cushion underfoot. 5. Dynafish Xiaonian - Perhaps got a wrong size because my foot was swimming in the upper even when I got 1/2 size down. Difficult to go fast in the really soft foam. 6. Xtep 160X 3.5 Pro - Probably got the wrong size as it was really tight. Really nice and responsive but didn’t have any allowance for slower reps. (Basically the same as a Nike Streakfly but thick and bouncy. Becomes quite blocky on bad days.) 7. Endorphin Speed 1/2: Really nice shoe for tempo and faster stuff back in the day but the new versions (v3 and v4) seems lacking. 8. Adidas Takumi Sen 10: Nice as a trainer but the shoe feels bottom heavy for some reason. 9. Qiaodan Plaid 1.5: Nice and cushioned for the longer tempos and slower intervals. Becomes chunky and blocky and difficult to run with at faster paces. 10. Nike Streakfly 2: Really good for shorter reps. Light and fast. Cushioning abit lacking on longer reps. Durability is not really good. I’m thinking of using the Streakfly 2 for faster paces (5K and under) but I cannot find something that I like for broken up tempos/thresholds and longer tempo work at 5K pace and up. Are there any shoes that are worth trying out in the current market? Or are there any shoe that you have tried that you are satisfied from faster workouts? Thanks!

Hmm… your comment on the TS11 seems really different from others. I hear the TS11 being soft and not really something that they would use for a workout. Those comments really pushed me away from trying a pair of TS11.

Adidas tsakumi sen 10. Carbon plate and can get it quite cheap. Not comfortable for anything above 10k(at best) but it's fast, you can't run slow in them, they propel you forward. For reference I'm heavy runner(95kg) have done 10k race with them and did great. Can't speak on durability, I ran only 50km in them and use it only for fast run.

So i have a goal to run about 660km till august(have already done 170). But unfortunately my shoes are dead only after 160km. I need something that will last 400km at least. My stats 96kg(210lbs) 195cm(6'5) Semi wide foot Forefoot/mid foot striker Will run 5:00-8:00min/k Will run on mix of gravel and concrete Need good cushoining and ventilation(but im used to sweating so not much of a problem) Budget upto 150 euros I will order them so i wont be able to fell them first(im in different country and they dont have my size(47eu)) I have now NB Rebel v5 i liked them but they died after 150km Adidas tsakumi sen 10 for speed work and races(love them but not very stable) Had NB more foam v4 liked them and put throu 500km Looking at Novablast 5 Evo SL Gel-Kayano 31 SALOMON AERO GLIDE 3 Gel-Nimbus 27 Or other that you will recomend.
