SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.

I’m sure people do it but I would never use the Takumi Sen for a half. They’re for sure fast (I had the 8 for the track and almost nothing over 5k). For me, and I suspect many many others from hobby joggers to elites, there are better tools. The Superblast 2 is absolutely fast enough for a 1:40 half, and will keep you protected and stable throughout. Does it feel as amazing at speed as the Takumi? No. In fact I find that I rarely feel excited to run in the SB2 (now on my second pair after two pairs of the SB1) but I do typically feel glad that I wore them for anything long and at pace. If it’s me, I’m wearing plated super shoes for a half, but if you’re set in the two pairs you have, for your pace I vote SB2.
Adidas uppers are not the best, I have the AP3, Takumi Sen 8 and both are just weird (recycled plastic I think), the B13 apparently addressed the uppers problem. I'm about to crack open a new pair of B12s after putting 455 miles on my first pair.
Cheap laces swap + runners knot = zero issues Adidas has notoriously terrible laces, I’ve swapped all the laces in different pairs from the B12, AP3, TS8..
Over the last 4 months I've only used Carbon Race shoes, My legs and feet have never felt better, my running has improved significantly, but, I think there's probably a sweet spot where this works that's connected to weekly milage and overall milage, if you're running 160+km a week you're going to need some recovery/easy runs and Carbon Race shoes just aren't the best for that, but then either are the Megablasts... I personally run 60-90km a week and don't do any easy running, If I use training shoes running 90km a week I'd need a recovery/easy run, but the Carbon race shoes look after my legs better so I just don't need it if only using racers which is great because I loath easy running, I also find them more comfortable, the versatility I need is all at the higher end, and in many instances the durability is better than daily trainers or easy/recovery shoes. I very rarely pay more than £140 for a pair of shoes.
I don't have high hopes for the outsole durability of the Evo SL. It reminds me too much of the earlier Takumi Sen models and Adios Pro 2, which wore through by 200 miles. The Continental they used on the Boston 12 and original Prime X lasted forever, but the smooth stuff is not as good.
I’ve been training for about 11 weeks now for a 10k coming up next Saturday. I use the Takumis for sprint workouts and the Adios Pro 4 for tempo and threshold work. The Takumis are incredible at speed and super light, just wary of the distance and conditions (brick and asphalt). I feel I know the answer but looking for perspective. Targeting sub-45 minutes which my training should allow me to achieve. [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/1ryx2xj)
