Id stay away from adidas. The altra paradigm 8 is an ok stability shoe
I would recommend looking into Altra - I have their Paradigms, and the shoes have guards on the sides to help flat footed runners avoid pronating/supinating Great shoe with a wide toe box. Seriously, the moment I got these shoes, my running journey took a leap
Altra Paradigm. Greatest standing/walking shoe around, imho
Altra, I have a few models I rotate but the paradigm and Olympus have been great because they have some cushion while still being zero-drop. They make a gore-tex version of the Olympus I use when it’s storming outside so my socks aren’t nasty all day while working in the clinic.
That's at least a size too short, not the shoe's fault... But if you liked kayano, the new paradigm 8 is amazing... comes in a wide option too, but size up... in any shoe you want about a thumb in front of your longest toe while standing.
Altra Paradigm Wide should do the trick!
My brother from another mother- I can only run in Altra Paradigm Wide, Torin wide, or Lone Peak wide. I literally pay 30-40 usd extra to find the shoe through resellers online. Give up hope of liking how the shoe looks and if you see one in your size buy it immediately. Hoka has two widths- 2E and 4E and I’ve only ever seen the Bondi in black at 4E.
I’d wear whatever your long run shoe is, at those paces. Don’t overthink it. Comfort is gonna be king for 5+ hours on your feet. I ran a 4:27 last year in max cushion Altras, then a 3:55 in the spring in Topo Spectres. Still haven’t talked myself into a super shoe. Maybe once I’m pushing for 3:30.
Altra, love the zero drop too and have 6 pair of Torin that are only suitable for walking now. The recent editions of Torin weren't comfortable, so I went with Hoka. May have to try the Olympus.
Altras are known for their 0 drop shoes, though not all are. If you go with a 0 drop and have not previously spent a lot of miles without a drop, work up to it slowly. You can get seriously injured if you do too many miles too quickly. Some people love them, it gave me knee and hip pain. Everyone's body is different!
I live my Altras. The zero drop takes a little getting used to but now I prefer it.
