Asics Gel Excite 10 would be a good choice. That's what I own along with Nike Downshifter 12. Post it on r/indianrunners to get more entry-level recommendations.

I run 3-4 times a week, approx 20-25km weekly. I bought asics gel excite 10 on Black Friday sale. How long will they last me? I am a bit overweight but I’ve gotten my 5k pace from 8:40 to 7:20 in a couple months. I want to get it around 6 or lower by March 2026

Asics Gel Excite 10 and UnderArmour charged Speed swift. Asics Gel are better I would say in terms of overall performance but I like UA because of the styling.

I have the Excite 10's, I'm not a runner but do about 100-150km a week of walking, awesome show for the price. Got them for about 50usd extra wide model. Having come from Kayanos for years, these are a solid alternative

General consensus is those budget shoes would not support your feet well and are hardly running shoes. If i were you I'd look for Nike Pegasus 41 at Nike outlets or online. Right now dicks has 1 or 2 colors for 60 to 70 bucks. Pegasus are real running shoes at a great price. If you dont want to listen to that advice then I would get the asics gel excite. Had them as walking shoes and surprised at the comfort.

I recommend Asics Gel Excites. Very well-made and quite affordable (around $75), plus older models are almost always available (on Amazon at least) even cheaper. A solid, neutral running shoe. Obviously the more you run the faster they'll wear out but these hold up better than many and, again, they're way less than $100 (which is my absolute limit on price).
