I had a very similar experience at runners needs. Training for my first race and I was told gel kayano were the right option for me. Think it was the 26 back then. Rock hard and hated running so much it turned me off for years as I kept getting leg and foot cramps. Bought some novablast after googling the most popular running shoe and suddenly running felt fun šŸ˜‚

I have the Gel Kayano and love them! That said, I did get a proper gait analysis in a running shoe store, so can’t comment on whether these would be the right fit for you or not, but they certainly were for me!

Most of my runs are boring. So I use thick shoes for safety.Ā  I do have a Boston 12 for my faster running. It is more fun to use! But I only use them like once a week. The rest of the runs are on boring shoes (kayano, 1080)

I was just noticing yesterday that my Kayanos are not feeling as springy as they used to, and I only have 190 miles on them. :( I’m considering buying a second pair to rotate in, but I already have two other pairs of road shoes!

You can find asics nimbus or gel kayano for 5.5k if may malapit sayo outlet. Or new balance 1080 or more. Pede din puma magmax. Heavy side din ako, while I like to explore Chinese brands, preference ko din ung matry ko.

People can recommend shoes, but it might just be more waste of money. Shoes are not cheap. Best bet is go to a running shoe store and spend 20 minutes trying on shoes they recommend. I would do that and buy the pair there and then go online and find the previous year's model and buy that at a bigger discount. Stability with cushion would be something like Brooks Adrenaline or Glycerin or New Balance 860 or ASICS Gel-Kayano or Saucony Guide. If you are having foot pain custom insoles from a foot doctor would be the best bet. I had to do that after fracturing my foot twice.

If you want stability the gel kayano or hurricane are probably safe bets.

I have SB2 and SB3, and I'm a heavy runner \~195 lbs I'm on my second pair of SB2 with 300 km and the first one lasted 1000 km, still have it and it still feels good I retired them because of the milestone and because of the color way... I only have logged about 100 km in the SB3 and they look and feel as good as new. Sole looks good even considering that I run in a very abrasive road. My previous experience with super soft shoe was Mizuno Neo Vista, Amazing feeling but durability was very poor. Foam deformed and sole had serious flaws after less than 400 kms. Asics shoes are expensive but I've been loyal since they have a very good durability for my weight. I've own Novablast 4, kayano and Nimbus. All good.
