I loved the old Kayanos when I got the 28s? Now they kill my feet and shins
Sometimes I prefer my trusty worn in ones (nimbus and kayanos) over using new pairs (still sitting fresh)
New shoes feel different than older gels (oven been on them since 90s) but kayanos are more stability especially laterally. I like them for gym based activities though also for outdoors with uneven pavement . Nimbus was similar but more cushion while Novablast very cushion oriented
I have the same condition, and the Hurricane was less intrusive on the arch for my overpronation compared to other stability shoes. In contrast, The Kayanos absolutely dig into my arch
Been wearing Kayanos since the 28th series up to 31. Switched up to Novablast 5, after 100k or so outside of my left knee started flaring up everytime I ran more than 2k.
Hi guys - I'm a heavy over-pronator who does about 25km/week of fairly easy running - about 4:30-5:00km/min. would love your recommendations for a new pair of daily trainers based on what I've run in and enjoyed/not before: * Brooks Glycerin GTS 20 - My least favourite, toe and heel both collapsed after 400km, no fun to run in (heavy, sluggish) and couldn't wait to get to a respectable mileage before binning. * Saucony Guide 15 - didn't get on with these, felt very high and uncushioned and actually not that stable. got them discounted so gave up after 50km. * Saucony Tempus 1 - Loved them at first but found my feet and ankles hurting after running about 3-400km in these shoes - maybe a red herring. * Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 - Enjoyed at the time as they were my first proper running shoe but think I'd want something more 'fun' to run in nowadays. * ASICS Gel Kayano 28-31 - Keep buying these and they're good, not any fun to run in though and do feel heavy. Ideally I'd love something that is more cushioned than the Guide/Adrenaline, but not as heavy as the Gel Kayano/Glycerin. Is there a sweet spot here and is that sweet spot the Saucony Tempus 2?!
I have the Gel Kayano and love them! That said, I did get a proper gait analysis in a running shoe store, so can’t comment on whether these would be the right fit for you or not, but they certainly were for me!
Most of my runs are boring. So I use thick shoes for safety. I do have a Boston 12 for my faster running. It is more fun to use! But I only use them like once a week. The rest of the runs are on boring shoes (kayano, 1080)
I was just noticing yesterday that my Kayanos are not feeling as springy as they used to, and I only have 190 miles on them. :( I’m considering buying a second pair to rotate in, but I already have two other pairs of road shoes!
