SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.
Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
My rotation is mainly asics... Daily trainer - Gel kayano 32, Max cushion - Gel nimbus 26s, Tempo/speed - Saucony endorphin speed 4s, but I've heard good things about the Asics magic speeds, and superblasts can handle reasonable speeds well too, Race - metaspeed edge, look into metaspeed sky too depending on how you run
Superblast 2! Struggled with inner knee pain before and was only able to train well using my kayanos. Got SB2s for my 2nd half mary and now itās THE pair i always look forward to running in Other shoes in the rotation: kayano32, novablast3, 1080v14, evosl, glycerinmax
Kayano 32 all the way. Absolutely incredible for overpronators!
Iām about 1000 plus running/walking miles in on my Pegasus 37ās and know I need to replace them. They have held up really well, and have also doubled up as my travel walkers since Iām on the go often. They provided great cushion for my 215lb self, but are starting to get thin and stiff and would love to know what to graduate to. I have wider feet, 2e to 3e fit nicely, 4e feels best but itās hard to find shoes in cool colors so I usually sacrifice width for style, I canāt help it. The 4e options are so ugly! I usually train pretty easy but occasionally progress to tempo pace with occasional interval sprints when Iām feeling good. I feel my Pegasus have been great for that. They have been soft where needed, but also responsive enough for me to have fun when Iām pushing it. Id love a shoe that might satisfy these characteristics but with a bit more cushion as Iām approaching the 40 mark. Would love to protect the joints as much as possible. I tend to run an average of 3.5-6miles with an occasional 8-10 miler. I just recently tried a pair of Nb1080v14ās. Man, felt like I was on clouds and felt nice when coming on the the heels. The ārolling forward feelingā was also really cool! I also tried a pair of ASICS Gel Kayano 32ās and they felt similar to the NBās, so plush! Maybe a bit more stability but either shoe felt a bit on the soft side which would be excellent for longer runs but it seems at the sacrifice of stability, def donāt want o be rolling ankles! Are there any shoes I should consider looking at based on this description? I was eying down the ASIC Novablast 5 and the Mizuno Wave Riders and the Mizuno vista 2ās. For what itās worth Iām located in Japan so not sure if the market is different or not. Any insight and info appreciated!
I walk 15km a day including some running, and therefore go through a pair every few months. I juggle multiple pairs of Asics Gel Kayano 30 (don't like the 31 or 32). If you want insane cushion, go for Hoka Bondi 8 but you will compromise on stability. If you want cushion and stability, either go for Asics Gel Kayano 32 or Asics Gel Nimbus 28. I am not a big fan of Nike Vomero plus (which I also own) because the cushion has a steep fall from heel to toe, which I find uncomfortable. PS I bacially \*live\* in sneakers because I also wear them at work.
Hi running people, I need some advice on what shoes to get. A few years ago I used to run a 5k about 2-3 times a week, but an injury kept me from running, so I stopped altogether. I was at a store on Saturday and got my feet analysed. I do have slight overpronation, I also have a splay foot and would be more prone for hallux valgus in my later years. I also have knee problems, which is why I wear a brace while going on hikes e.g. Taking that into consideration, Iāve been looking at: ***Brooks Glycerin 23, Asics Gel Kayano 32, Asics Novablast 5, Asics Gel Nimbus 27.*** I tried the Brooks and the Asics Kayano as well as the Gel Nimbus on. I liked the extra stabilty from the Kayano. The employee at the store said that a stability shoe could be good, but the overpronation is not too bad yet. Iāve read that the Kayano could still help me, because of my splay foot and the automatic rotation of my lower leg to the inside. Iām guessing the Brooks would minimise impact well, because of the cushioning, but still be stable enough. My guess is that the Nimbus would swallow a lot of impact, because of the softness, and taking the pressure off the knee joints. Kindly correct me, if Iāve made a wrong assessment about the shoes, though. I donāt know if these would be my best options, and which one I should go for, but if you have any other suggestions I should look into, Iād be very grateful.
