It’s me, I am the dissatisfied owner lol. I just want them to use a better grade durable sole on the most recent versions. I’ve been wearing Noosa tris since the 7 model, and the 14-16s have broken down incredibly fast. I’ve purchased 9 pairs and they just don’t hold up like previous models. It makes me sad because the Noosa Tri is my absolute favorite irreplaceable shoe for both trail and road running. Here’s a pic of a recent pair. https://preview.redd.it/j1bf2abjwi4h1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff5353057e87d29ac0966c6429f3e683ec6107ce
I used to love the Noosa tris but since the 14s the foam has degraded incredibly quickly to the point I wear holes in the soles after only a couple hundred miles. They are an incredible shoe, at FIRST. For the price point and the rate at which they wear out I’ve had to search for a different shoe, but have t yet found one that fits as well as the Noosa Tri did. Best shoe in the world were my Noosa Tri 9s. And I love the insane colors they do on these. Maybe you will have better luck with them
Noosa Tri, Sonicblast or Magic Speed I bought the Megablast for the subt workouts but I don't really like it at those paces. I know I'm in the minority, but it feels a little clunky at faster paces. Last winter I used the Novablast 5 for a lot of the subt workouts & it worked well if you can deal with a softer shoe. NB5 is an absolute gem. It's much smoother than the Megablast & you can use it for long runs. Really baffles me how Megablast is $85 more than NB5.
Not sure if the rocker is large enough for what you are looking for but I race in Salomon s/lab phantasm 2, they fit my running style well. For context I run best in a shoe with a decent rocker, ie ASICS Gel Noosa Tri and Wave rebellion flash 2
I'm not, been doing triatlhon since I was child and it's been a long path trying shoes, so far for me the last shoes which I used (Adizero EVO SL) where the best if you compare all the aspects. To be honest I rather Nike for competiction (VaporFly, AlphaFly)... Also tried Asic Trinosa, Novablast... But didn't make me feel as adizero did. Maybe you could try to go to the store and try them, you know, each shoe is a worlds and you must feel yourself how it feels!
Noosas are definitely speedy, yes, but I’m not sure I’d take them for more than 10km. Great 5K shoe (set my PR in them back in November) and solid for speed work, but that’s it.
For me, my daily trainer is my recovery shoe. It's usually a shoe that I bought for something else or got on sale or a distance trainer that is about used up. Nothing special. Just getting in some miles. (Waverider 28, Vomero 17, Triumph 20) I have a lighter, generally firmer shoe for interval day (VO2 max) (Hyperion Max, Noosa Tri) I use a plusher shoe with more rocker for tempo/threshold day (Hyperion Max 2) Long run is a comfy, very plush shoe with decent energy return. (Balos, Glideride Max 2) At least that's the thought.
I am superstitious about long run shoes. I always have one pair of shoes that I use only for long runs. They are typically softer and more about comfort than anything. Right now my long runs are in the NB Balos. Historically, those have been Invincibles, Infinity React, Triumph, Vomero... I read an article about Jeannie Rice. She attributes some of her resiliency to a large shoe rotation. Good enough justification for me. Plus there are articles out there relating reduce injury rates with a shoe rotation. I have shoes that I wear on interval day and shoes that I wear on tempo/threshold day. To me it's more fun to run fast in a shoe that's designed for the pace. Streakfly, Hyperion Max, Noosa tri... Recovery runs are just in whatever I'm trying to wear out at the moment. I have a pair of Triumph 20's that are relegated to daily runs now. You can certainly get by in a single pair of shoes. I trained for and ran my first half in a pair of Nike Pegasus 32. In retrospect, not a great shoe, but it did the job. I find new shoes motivating for running. Some days I need some extra motivation and a new pair of shoes helps me get there.
Hot take but I love the Noosa Tri. Low stack, rockered and non plated. Great for my 5ks
Tri Noosa too
I think the tri noosa rides more aggressive, slightly akin to old school ds trainer - than most contemporary shoes
