Superblast 2! Struggled with inner knee pain before and was only able to train well using my kayanos. Got SB2s for my 2nd half mary and now it’s THE pair i always look forward to running in Other shoes in the rotation: kayano32, novablast3, 1080v14, evosl, glycerinmax
ASICS Dynablast 5. Between $89 and $99 everywhere. Basically a novablast 3 with a way better upper. Best deal on a budget running shoe.
A bit firmer. In my opinion the NB 3 was the best of the line. Same sole, same geometry, better tongue and upper on the Dynablast 5.
My like my actual rotation which is: Recovery: NB 1080 v14, Puma Magmax2 Daily: Mizuno Neo Zen, Asics Novablast 3 Longrun: Puma Magmax2, Brooks Glycerin Max 3 Speed: Saucony Endorphin Speed 5, Adidas Evo Sl Trail: LaSportiva Prodigio, Hoka Challenger 8 I plan on getting a peoper Raceday shoe soon (maybe Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 or Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4) and a faster trail shoe (LaSportiva Prodigio Pro) Been running since september but pretty happy with my rotation💪🏻 Z2 pace 5:30-6:00/km , recovery 6:30/km, Intervalls 3:45-4:30/km
Full disclosure: I loved the Novablast 3, tolerated the Novablast 4, and hated the Novablast 5. I adore my Superblast 2 from threshold pace to slightly slower than marathon pace. The shortest/fastest race I would consider wearing them would be a 10k, but I would not prefer them to other shoes at that distance. If you are looking at non-plated trainers, have you considered the Asics Noosa Tri 16 for those distances? I am not sure about the durability of these, however.
I got posterior tibial tendonitis/osis/opathy in my Novablast 3, but not because of the shoe. Focus on strengthening your calves, hips, and glutes instead of worrying about how much you pronate.
First of all sorry for the late reply. From my past daily trainers which are nova3, nimbus 25, nova5, and 1080v13, I'd choose 1080 over other trainers. I also consider of coping 1080v14 for my next daily trainer when I retire my nova5 soon.
I've used Novablast since the 3s and currently use a 5. They've stayed remarkably consistent to a comfortable cushiony run over the years. Except the price, that keeps going way up
good to hear. dynablast 5/novablast 3 are one of the most popular and durable shoes from asics
I love my Novablast 3 and thought that was really soft until I tried the Nike Vomero. That’s a pretty plush almost squishy shoe. If my Novablast was the Lexus of running shoes, the Vomeros would be the Cadillac (well 80s Caddies).
Just made almost same order. Did not like glidemax 2 and nb5 after i used 2 nb3 le for 2 1/2 years. So tomorrow rebelv4, evo sl and tri noosa 16 will arrive. Used my old treadmill used tri noosa 14 first time outside last 2 weeks and was surprised how good they still are after 600 km on threadmill. Tri noosa 16 is much smaller than 14.
Nb 5 is fine. Solid shoe. Did 46min on a 10 k race (nonpavement) and do 5 to 5:10 min/km on training. Loved nb3 le more i had two times. Somehow i do not love them but thats ok for 2-3 times a week running 9,5 km after work and sometimes on weekend. Will excange them for noos tri 17 or maybe some similar shoe coming out surprisingly (asics speedblast or nb light, some nike light pegasus?)
Novablast 3 and Mach 5 but they’re both discontinued sadly. The newer versions are still good though, apparently! I’d also recommend checking out RunRepeat.com to compare stats like weight and cushioning :)
