SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.

Noosa Tri, Sonicblast or Magic Speed I bought the Megablast for the subt workouts but I don't really like it at those paces. I know I'm in the minority, but it feels a little clunky at faster paces. Last winter I used the Novablast 5 for a lot of the subt workouts & it worked well if you can deal with a softer shoe. NB5 is an absolute gem. It's much smoother than the Megablast & you can use it for long runs. Really baffles me how Megablast is $85 more than NB5.
I (F39) liked hyp max 2 more than 3 (ran marathon in them 3:44), was super excited for 3 but they hurt me. I did like brooks Hyperion elite and ran a half in them (1:39), and will run a full in them next week. I would also recommend Asics Sonicblast - great light plated shoes for short picks ups/tempo runs. I ran 14mi tempo in them and regretted (knee joints felt meh afterwards) but shorted intervals are great in them (the other day I ran mile repeats 7:10 and 6:50 instead of 7:40 bc I didn’t even feel the pace).
Fantastic speed/tempo shoe, the stack height is tall enough to support long runs. I personally end up fatigued in them beyond 10mi, but im also heavier by 30lbs or so.
No problem, my only caveat is the upper is rough almost feels race like. Breathes well nonetheless.
I use a shoe like Endorphin Speed or Sonicblast for tempo and threshold sessions. For Vo2 max and intervals less thab 800m, I generally use and old race shoe. Right now, thay is the Metaspeed Sky Paris.
Same thing with magic speed. Carbon plate and narrow heel. Those shoes are designed for people who run fast and thus their heel never touches the ground. Most slower paced runners heel strike. It’s just how gravity works. If you heel strike at all, any carbon plated race shoe outside of maybe Saucony Endorphin Pro is not a good choice. Not to say the ASIC race line aren’t great shoes, they are, but you have to be a fast, experienced runner to reap the benefits. I’m not sure if you golf, but pro golfers use a type of irons called “blades”, they’re thinner, lighter, harder, and have a much smaller sweet spot in the face of the club, but if you know you can hit the ball dead center every time, they will give you the best performance and control over the spin and flight of the ball. However, if you put those clubs in the hands of a newbie, they’re going to rarely hit a good shot. That’s why beginner/intermediate golfers use heavier, more forgiving irons with a larger sweet spot. Yes they won’t get the same distance, but their odds of accuracy and consistency are much higher. Sonicblast is absolutely fine but your feet may hurt after a mile or two from the pebax. And they’re still inferior for a beginner to Megablast and EVO SL for a 5k/10k.
I personally love my pair if Sonicblasts, I’ve never worn the Sauconys, but the Sonicblasts are a great trainer for threshold and tempo work, and even feel good on faster paces and longer runs. Especially for 100 dollars American, that’s a steal.
