r/beginnerrunningWhat running shoes do you have and what do you use them for?

I have 2 pairs. Brooks adrenaline 23 for almost everything and brooks glycerin 22 I bought as a treat for long / easy runs. I’ll likely stick with these and replace as needed with the same

I love the brooks adrenaline 22 and 23. The 24s have some weird heel cupping going on that I’m not a fan of, personally.

I went to a running store where they fitted and video'ed my running. I have used the Brooks Adrenaline 22 but replaced them after 650 km's with brooks adrenaline GTS 23 (2 pairs, one for treadmill/indoor and one for outdoor). The outdoor pair is on 400+ km's now... I will probably replace them with the same again.

I couldn't find those but my 23's are fine as well. I was looking at ordering a new set but I just realized the codes are different so I may just go back to the shop.

r/Marathon_TrainingFolks who are in the 3:45-4hr range- what shoes did you wear in your last race and are you happy with that choice?

I wear the Adrenaline 23s for same reason, injury prevention and I just got the 24s and omg, they are like marshmallows on my feet! I ordered a second pair to wear as my everyday shoe too! Good luck, I hope they do you well!

I’ve been doing nearly all my runs in Brooks Adrenaline 23s, along with nearly all the races I’ve done but after PRing my half at 1:50:35 I thought it fitting to upgrade my race day shoe for my upcoming full! I got a pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 4’s which was recommended by my local running club. I’ll get one or two longer runs in with them before the race next month and I’m really looking to hopefully finishing my first full!

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksShoes for heavy runner that is durable
7 months ago

I'm 2m03 / 6ft8 and 114kg / 251lbs. Currently alternating between brooks adrenaline gts 23 and asics gt-2000 12. This seems to be working fine for me, but this thread makes me wonder if I should have picked different shoes...

I don’t know how exactly you like your shoes but i found that Karhu by fleet feet had some less crazy ones that i’m thinking of buying soon, I just went with a more cushioned one first. I think brooks and saucony still make some more basic ones too quite often, i have the adrenaline gts 23 from last year when it went on sale for only $99

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksHalf Marathon Shoe for Versatility
15 days ago

I’m currently training for my 2nd half marathon in April (F, 25) and wanted some new shoes that would be great as a race day shoe (I don’t really care about carbon plates) but something that can be used for versatility as I’m also doing a Hyrox in June and that’s about 5 miles of running. I ran my first half marathon in the Brooks Adrenaline 23s and those were really great and comfy and I had no problems at all. I’m currently doing my training in the Brooks Glycerin GTS and they are great for my training now, have no problem in them but they are a little too cushioning for everyday gym use. Hoping to get something in the middle ground for training and running if that’s possible.

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksFlat feet / fallen arches / overpronation – what shoes + insoles actually work?

I’m late to the party but I also overpronate only on my left foot. I started with the Brooke’s adrenaline gts 23’s a couple of years ago and haven’t looked back. Currently have the 25’s. At first I had a few issues with them rubbing on my left arch (or lack of) which was different from the others but that went away when I tightened them.

r/BeginnersRunningDoes anyone over-pronate but stick to neutral shoes?

I over pronate and have used the GTS 23 for 700km now, I love it, I used to get bad achilles pain with neutral shoe and I can do long distances without issue on the GTS. I haven't quite retired them yet, but have started using the Asics GT 2000-13 as their replacement and nearly 100km in and also great for me so far.
