I have 2 pairs. Brooks adrenaline 23 for almost everything and brooks glycerin 22 I bought as a treat for long / easy runs. I’ll likely stick with these and replace as needed with the same

The Adrenaline 23s were trash. I hated them. The 24 is sooooo much better. I haven’t tried the 25 yet though. The last time I tried on the Kayanos they were too squishy for my liking. I definitely recommend going to a running store and trying them all. And get a gait analysis to make sure stability is really what you need.

I am an over-pronator and have been doing most of my long runs (15/20km) in a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23s with no issue. I got fitted for them in my local running store 18 months ago, they were incredible and never blistered. I recently upgraded to the GTS 25s online (I had a discount code). Same size. Same brand. Same style - they rubbed like crazy and I got the same blisters you’ve shown. I went to my local shop again - they said loads of people have had issues with the 25s, and he fitted me for a new pair of Saucony Guide 19s. They’ve been amazing, no rubbing or blistering. If you over pronate, you’ll need a decent stability shoe and I highly highly recommend seeking out a decent running shop and getting a fitting. I tried body glide, I tried plasters - you can get thru it, but it will be painful. Getting a shoe that fits your foot and stride will definitely be worth it!

I wear the Adrenaline 23s for same reason, injury prevention and I just got the 24s and omg, they are like marshmallows on my feet! I ordered a second pair to wear as my everyday shoe too! Good luck, I hope they do you well!

+1 to the GT-2000. They are my daily trainers and have over 130miles in them. I also have the gts23 which was amazing and did a ton of miles however the newer ones gained a lot of padding and weight.

I’ve been doing nearly all my runs in Brooks Adrenaline 23s, along with nearly all the races I’ve done but after PRing my half at 1:50:35 I thought it fitting to upgrade my race day shoe for my upcoming full! I got a pair of Saucony Endorphin Pro 4’s which was recommended by my local running club. I’ll get one or two longer runs in with them before the race next month and I’m really looking to hopefully finishing my first full!

I'm 2m03 / 6ft8 and 114kg / 251lbs. Currently alternating between brooks adrenaline gts 23 and asics gt-2000 12. This seems to be working fine for me, but this thread makes me wonder if I should have picked different shoes...

I’m a 34M and usually run about 2.5 miles in each 2G class at OTF. My base pace is around 5.5 MPH, and I go up to 7.5–10 MPH for all-out efforts. I’ve been running in the Hoka Mach 5 and I have loved them which got about 300+ miles on my current pair. Recently, I think I might need a stability shoe instead of a neutral one. I tried the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 for a bit, but I didn’t really like them. They felt heavy, made it harder to pick up the pace, and I started noticing some knee pain. So I switched back to my Hoka Mach 5 for most classes. Any stability shoe recs that feel lighter and more responsive? Thanks.
