I ended up returning them. They are a bit taller and softer. They do have a higher ankle so those with issues with the max 2 of heel slippage should be happier. The 2's already feel like a chunky shoe to me so that increasing was my main return reason.

I have both. I overpronate and my arches often hurt... but I run through it. I bought the 24 adrenaline gts and i was happy with them..then I bought the ghost max 2 run disney mickey version and I like them even more. The adrenaline just became my walking sneakers after I got the ghost max 2. Oh I still throw dr scholls inserts in them anyway.

GM3 has a much more forgiving toebox shape and more volume, and a more plush feel. The upper and lining are softer feeling. GM2 are ok for me, but feel firmer, and lower volume. I prefer the 3. I find the GM3 comfortable for all day walking and running. I tried the 2, but found by the end of the day they caused chafing; they're pretty rough feeling.

Got these a few weeks ago and I feel like they’ve contributed to me being on the verge of getting shin splints. Wanted to run my first half in them but I think I will stick with my brooks ghost max 2 which have been great for me personally- though I see mixed reviews on those as well

My wife loves her Brooks Ghost Max 2s. Very comfortable for every day wear and for running. She's particular about colors too and Brooks has some really nice colorways.

Ghost Max 2 is a little roomier compared to the normal Ghost line. I've not tried the Ghost Max 3, but yet to find better shoes. Especially for extra wide feet.

I’m yet to find a better running shoe than Pegasus 37. Since then I’ve tried Pegasus 40 & 41. Also brooks ghost max 2 which was really good too. I think the max 2 build feels more similar to pegs 37. The Pegasus models after 37 don’t seem to have enough cushion in the front.

You don't need more than one pair at a time. Plenty of runners do just fine with one pair for everything! If you've accepted that you don't need more than one, but you would still like to buy multiple pairs for different sorts of runs, that's fine! I have five pairs currently, all are a bit different, but I could feasibly pick just one of them and only run in that. I keep buying more pairs to get really specific about what I wear a certain shoe for, and honestly just as an excuse to spend money on myself and my hobbies. I have the Ghost Max 2, which I bought as an 'everything' shoe, but it was a bit too cushioned for me so I just use it for recovery runs when my legs want something really plush. I then bought the Adios Pro 3 for an upcoming race. They were super fast, and really helped me run fast on race day. I use them for races, interval sessions, and the occasional long run. I then bought the Boston 12. I wanted a daily shoe that wasn't as soft as the Ghost Max 2. I mainly use it for long runs, and occasionally for shorter easy-tempo runs. I then bought the Adizero SL2. I wanted a daily shoe that wasn't as soft as the Ghost Max 2, but not as firm as the Boston 12. This is now my true 'daily' shoe, and I use it for everything from easy runs to intervals and strides. It feels great at a wide range of paces, I have found that it causes some blistering after 10-15km, so I don't often wear it for long runs. I then bought the Evo SL. Everyone has been raving about it for months and months, and it's basically my beloved Adios Pro 3 without the rods. It's fast and unstable. I'm still figuring out what to use it for, but I think it will be mainly for faster runs, so intervals, long run workouts, and maybe some races. I buy all these shoes because I want to, not because I think I need to. One pair is all you really need. More pairs can be nice to have, but that's your choice.

195lbs runner here. I really enjoy the Adidas Adizero SL2 as a daily trainer. It caused me some blistering early on, but that subsided, and has become my go-to daily shoe. I use it for every sort of run, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. For me, it does everything you say you want. It's sufficiently cushioned, it also enables you to pick up the pace, with a nice bouncy feel. I also have the Brooks Ghost Max 2, it's too cushioned for a daily shoe. I have the Boston 12, it's not cushioned enough for daily use. I also have the Evo SL which is a common suggestion for a daily shoe. It's good, but maybe a bit racy and a bit unstable imo. It's caused me a bit of lower leg pain adjusting, but now that I'm accustomed to it, I think it's not quite as suitable for daily wear as the SL2. A great tempo/interval/5k-HM shoe, but not a true daily trainer. So my recommendation is the SL2 (The Adizero one, *not* the Duramo one). It can be found pretty cheap too, which is the cherry on top. If you insist on a 2-shoe rotation, the SL2 + Evo SL would be my choice.

175cm 90kg wide footer here. I don't look for wide shoes specifically, but some of the naturally roomiest shoes I have found are Brooks. I have had the Ghost Max and Ghost Max 2, both of which worked great for me. The Ghost Max took me from running 5k to running a half-marathon. They were comfortable, maybe somewhat no-frills (not flashy-looking and no crazy responsive foam), but they offered good cushioning, good grip and left plenty of room for my feet to sit in there. I didn't need specific wide sizes. The regular width was more than enough for my wide feet.

I'm a similar weight at ~185lbs, I'm 5'9" and a midfoot striker. I find that it's *very* shoe-dependent. I have a pair that feel like they're nearing the end at 400km (Adidas Boston 12). I have a pair I had to retire at 500km (Brooks Ghost Max). I have pairs on 600km and still feel good (Adidas Adios Pro 3). I have a pair that's on 900km and only now feeling a bit flat, I'll retire them at 1000km (Adidas Adizero SL2). All of my pairs have plenty of rubber left on the outsole and look fine. I base their lifespan on how they feel to run in. When the foam starts feeling really flat, or the shoe starts causing me pain, I stop running in them.
