I have a lot of connections to get good prices but with that said not with every brand. These are the prices I can get in her size right now with the shoes I've been considering. Basically out on AP4, SC Elite, and puma because of the price unfortunately. Hyperion elite 5 looks like the winner unless one of these above is worth the extra 30-40 bucks. Adios Pro 4 $250 SC Elite V5 $250 Fast R nitro elite 3 $250 Alphafly 3 $198 Endorphin elite 2 $192 Cielo x1 2.0 $192 Metaspeed edge $189 Vaporfly 4 $182 Wave Rebellion Pro 2 $175 Adios Pro 3 $175 Rocket X 3 $175 Hyperion Elite 4 $175 Hyperion Elite 5 $160

I forgot about that shoe. I can't find any in her size at a discount but I found an ep3 for $156. I'm not familiar with the 3 but if that's better than the Brooks Hyperion elite 5 for $160 that I found then that's a contender

I own the regular Hyperion and I'd have to disagree. I think it's great for speed work on the track or grass which is what I use it for but it feels like a brick on the roads compared to what I'm looking for

Hi all! Looking for some advice on what might be my next “faster” shoe for attempting a 20m 5K PR this summer. Bit of background, I initially started running with Clifton 10s but had to give them up because at speed they’d cause pain under the ball of my feet along the big toe base. Not sure if I was bottoming them out, or they would flex too much. Bought the Adizero EVO SL to replace them as my do it all shoe, and I have been enjoying it. I am using them to train for my next half-marathon, until I recently bought the Hyperion Elite 5 as a race shoe. I’ve used it for a few tempo runs, and I LOVE it. I plan to keep it as a race only shoe after this race. Now, I’ve been thinking about pushing for a 20min 5K this summer, in between half-marathons. Given my experience with the Elite 5, I’m considering buying a pair of supertrainers to work toward this goal. I’d use them for intervals, tempo, keeping the Elite 5 only for race, and keep the EVO SL as my longer run and recovery run shoe. After much time spent on RunRepeat, I have landed upon the Zoom Fly 6 as a top contender for this. What are people’s thoughts on this? At these 3:45-4:30min/km paces, I land midfoot/heel,more midfoot as I speed up. Any other contenders I should look at? Thanks in advance! And let me know if I’m missing any info in my post. Cheers

Hi, be good to have an idea of the paces your running, and if you're happy to share whether you're a heel or forefoot or midfoot striker, whether you overpronate, medium or narrow or wide foot, and anything else. The Adrenaline GTS is a support designed to help stabilise your foot and ankle as you roll through your stride, stopping an excessive inward roll. Is this something you need? I'd suggest starting with something that relatively stability and some heel to toe drop. Carbon racers with the high energy return midsoles tend to be less stable than trainers, especially support trainers like the GTS, however some are relatively more stable compared to others. \-Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 has a good reputation as a starting point carbon shoe. Medium fit I'd say. \-The Alphafly 3 was a big winner for a lot of people over the marathon distance the last year or more. \-The Brooks Hyperion Elite PB also has a bit of stability but is quite narrow throughout (fits me like a glove and I love it), not a lot of heel to land on as a result. The Elite 5 I am not sure how it compares stability and 'friendliness' wise, but has higher energy return. All of the above would be good from 5km to marathon if they suit your gait, foot strike, foot shape and paces. Runrepeat's reviews are an excellent source for lab tested energy return, widths, shock absorption and more, and they give an indication around stability. Doctors of Running are a good source of reviews to zero in on fit and stability.

Cool. I think given you're going above that 4:30/km pace a plated race shoe could definitely add some pop! Just be aware that with your overpronation race shoes are inherently unstable. Targeted strength work generally can help with that The Hyperion Elite PB are likely too narrow. Not sure about the v5 but if reviews say they're similar they may not work. The Pro 4 are medium width in the top box I'd say, so might work. Wider platform underfoot and the way your foot goes into the midsole gives a little stability. I've not tried on the Alphafly 3 but they're favoured for marathons because they are less unstable than some rivals apparently. Given the width factor I'd add in the New Balance Supercomp Elite v4 or v5. Between them, the Pro 4, and the Alphafly you've got a good shortlist. Most of these, if not all, can be found on discount at the moment. Enjoy!

I have a wider foot as well and am planning on running my next two half marathons in the Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris. It doesn't necessarily have a roomy toebox, but the upper has enough give that I don't feel pinched. I also tried the Brooks Hyperion Elite 5, which I loved. Probably the most comfortable shoe I ran in all year. I only returned it because I was able to get a great deal on the Sky Paris when the Tokyos came out. I also tried the New Balance SC Elite v5. The show felt great underfoot (very roomy), but I felt it didn't work well with my stride. I think both the Brooks and the NB would be worth taking a look at.

She seems to like Brooks, I’d just stick with the Hyperion Elite 5. It’s a great shoe for racing, using it on my upcoming HM with similar paces to your wife. Set 5 and 10k PRs in it
