SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
Brooks Hyperion Max 3 - nylon plate helps with stability, still gives stack for the distance, foam has some pop and the heel lock down is great
I (F39) liked hyp max 2 more than 3 (ran marathon in them 3:44), was super excited for 3 but they hurt me. I did like brooks Hyperion elite and ran a half in them (1:39), and will run a full in them next week. I would also recommend Asics Sonicblast - great light plated shoes for short picks ups/tempo runs. I ran 14mi tempo in them and regretted (knee joints felt meh afterwards) but shorted intervals are great in them (the other day I ran mile repeats 7:10 and 6:50 instead of 7:40 bc I didn’t even feel the pace).
I really don't think you need carbon, and while it might help you might prefer comfort over carbon. I've ran 2 marathons at that pace in Saucony endorphin speed 2s. The Brooks hyperion max 3 offers massive comfort with efficiency, it's just a tad heavy.
Hyperion Max 3 - at first they just seemed a bit boring and a bit flat. Actually I got them as they were about 40% off RRP - I don’t think I would have gotten them at full price. After a few more runs with them , they felt like a softer version of the SB2 and they were great for long runs. Nearly at 400km and the foam still feels great.
Given your stability concerns, I would look at the Saucony Hurricane 25. Excellent cushion and above average energy return. If you don’t need a specific stability focused shoe, I would give the Brooks Hyperion Max 3 a try. I’ve had mine for a couple months now and they’re great!
I’ve been running for the past 3 years, without any real goal or structure. Last year I got more serious about it and was recommended two pairs of running shoes. One of them was Cloud, which I used for a half marathon, and my right ankle was completely wrecked after the race. I also had a pair of Hyperion Max 3 from Brooks that I bought at the same time, but I used those for higher‑pace sessions. In December I got runner’s knee, and I’ve trained my way back to being able to run for 1 hour on a treadmill, but using some Asics shoes (Gel Phoenix) that don’t have as much drop as the Brooks shoes. Today I went for a run and only noticed towards the end that these Brooks shoes are extremely unstable for me. I’m also on the heavier side at 90 kg, so that might play a role in the assessment. Either way, I’m looking for a stable shoe. As you can see from the clip, I overpronate, and the instability goes first to the ankle, then up to the knee, and then to the hip. I need recommendations for other shoes I can use without injuring myself. Ideally i want to run a halvmarathon in september. Goal is 1:40. Last year i did 1:45. Thanks in advance.
