I have the Arahi 7’s and their super comfortable and and are great for running. Only issue is that I had was the. when I first got them, they were a a bit big so I my foot wasn’t in the right place causing my arch to hurt. I recommend you try then on before buying to get the perfect fit
I’m supposed to run in stability shoes according to my gait analysis but I’ve never been a big fan and don’t think they work for me. Current shoe is a Hoka Ahari 7 which I believe is a very mild stability shoe. Two pairs on the go now, one for walks and the other for running. Gonna buy another pair soon before they ruin them with a version 8!!!
Hoka Ahari 7. I have separate walking and running pairs. Best trainer I’ve worn for years, and that includes more expensive ones.
Over-pronator here, training for Amsterdam too. I run and train for HYROX on Hoka Arahi 7s. Used to wear the Arahi 5. Perfect balance between speed and comfort, excellent grip, and good stability for me. However, it’s different for everyone. Do a proper analysis at runnersworld for example and try out different shoes for several km’s on a treadmill before settling.
Hoka Arahai 7s changed my life, well the ankle-rolling part of my life anyway
overpronator here. I love my Brooks Adrenaline GTS (year doesn't really matter much - I always look for last seasons / sale anyway). Never ran the Ghosts but I think they're more neutral than support (like the adrenaline are). Might be worth looking into those? Ultimately this a personal preference thing and we can't really advise what will work best for you but if you buy direct from Brooks, you can trial shoes before committing to them. I think you have about 100 days or something? Same with Hoka (Arahi 7's are nice, but again a bit more neutral)
Weirdly, I tried some Hoka Arahi 7 shoes on in the store and they were really comfortable. They didn’t have the colour I wanted so I ordered some from Hoka’s website and I had the same problem as you in one foot. After a few days of breaking them in, in the house though, I had no issues.
I have Hoka Arahi 7 shoes. But my feet are long and narrow with overpronation. I suggest getting some good gait analysis from a shoe store where they will be the best people to suggest what’s right for you.
If you want a Hoka shoe with stability, that would be the Arahi or the Gaviota.
Start with stability shoes since you have got knock knees they help control pronation. Check out ASICS Gel-Kayano, New Balance 860, or Brooks Adrenaline (all offer wide sizes and solid support). HOKA Arahi is great if you want max cushioning without losing stability. Try them on in-store late afternoon (feet swell), walk a bit and consider a firm orthotic if you need extra correction. Worth paying a bit more for fit it saves your knees and lasts longer.
