I wore Brooks Ghost 16 for a while but I started getting bad heel pain on the bottom of my feet from lack of stability (I believe). I now have Hoka Arahi 7’s. They’re decent. They don’t cause me foot pain, but I wish they were a little less firm. They’re supportive, but I feel like they’re lacking plushness in the sole that makes them comfy. Should I try the Arahi 8? I hear they’re more plush than the 7. Or should I try the Saucony Hurricane or ASICS Gel Kayano 32? Unfortunately, going to a shore stores to try these all out won’t be an option because I’m a Women’s size 12 and that’s a rare size. So I’m planning on buying online. For reference: I have a narrow foot. Arahi 7 in regular is the perfect width. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have the Arahi 7’s and their super comfortable and and are great for running. Only issue is that I had was the. when I first got them, they were a a bit big so I my foot wasn’t in the right place causing my arch to hurt. I recommend you try then on before buying to get the perfect fit
I’m looking to purchase a new running shoe. New balance 860s were too much support. Hoka Arahi 7s are my go-to but I can’t find the anywhere and my current pair are worn down. I’m not a fan of the Arahi 8s. I read good things about the Brooks Glycerin 22s and the ASICS gel-Kayano 32s. Anyone favor one or the other? Or have other recommendations??
Just bought a pair and the heel slip makes my socks slip gown my foot and got two nice blisters after one wear. Back to my adrenaline.
Yeah I’ve got hoka arahi 7 the toe box is a bit too pointy even in wide! Catches my little toes. The new Arahi 8 have a nice wider toe box but they’ve made the sole really tall it looks odd to me…
Honestly not sure I only had them on quickly in store as I wanted to assess the width initially. The 7’s are stable.
I’m supposed to run in stability shoes according to my gait analysis but I’ve never been a big fan and don’t think they work for me. Current shoe is a Hoka Ahari 7 which I believe is a very mild stability shoe. Two pairs on the go now, one for walks and the other for running. Gonna buy another pair soon before they ruin them with a version 8!!!
Hoka Ahari 7. I have separate walking and running pairs. Best trainer I’ve worn for years, and that includes more expensive ones.
Over-pronator here, training for Amsterdam too. I run and train for HYROX on Hoka Arahi 7s. Used to wear the Arahi 5. Perfect balance between speed and comfort, excellent grip, and good stability for me. However, it’s different for everyone. Do a proper analysis at runnersworld for example and try out different shoes for several km’s on a treadmill before settling.

Hoka Arahai 7s changed my life, well the ankle-rolling part of my life anyway
overpronator here. I love my Brooks Adrenaline GTS (year doesn't really matter much - I always look for last seasons / sale anyway). Never ran the Ghosts but I think they're more neutral than support (like the adrenaline are). Might be worth looking into those? Ultimately this a personal preference thing and we can't really advise what will work best for you but if you buy direct from Brooks, you can trial shoes before committing to them. I think you have about 100 days or something? Same with Hoka (Arahi 7's are nice, but again a bit more neutral)
