Thank you for your input. I have been eying the new Vomero. Also eagerly awaiting reviews for the Premium version coming out in October since on paper it sounds like a shoe for me. I used to have the Clifton 7 for walking and loved them. Bought the 9 to replace them when they were done but never really made friends with that shoe. Too tight, and also my feet get super hot when running in them.

Hoka Clifton are amazing they have regular wide and 2E shoe for women .. get the 2E shoe if they are super wide.

Well you’re mischaracterizing the spirit of what I’m trying to get across. Of course it matters what show you’re in 30 miles into a run (wouldn’t want to be in vans) but the reality is the vast majority of runners in the world don’t get to a point where they’re 30 miles into a run, but many own multiple pairs of runners. Still, I could wear a pair of Clifton’s for a 50 mile run and then for next week’s hill sprints and they would be more than fine for both 👍 - and that’s what I’m saying

Completely agree. I ran in the Clifton’s for years and if I went outside with them right now it would take everything I have to run a 9 minute mile and it would be 10 if I didn’t give everything I had. , where I could go out and and run 6:45 in adidas pro 4 with everything I had and break 8 minutes without really trying That said I gotta give the Clifton’s a lot of love. They made me fall in love with running. Brought me from a hobby jogger to being obsessive, but I can’t run with those anchors tied to my feet anymore

I’ve run a few sub 4’a in Clifton’s, but up until 9 months ago they are all I ran in for years and loved them. I can’t even run in them anymore because they feel like running with anchors attached to my feet after trying some other shoes, both plated and not plated

I went to a running store and had the foot scan and hated the feel of what they recommended for me. I ended up getting Hoka Cliftons instead and they have been great for my use so far but I am a slow runner and haven’t run more than 9k at once yet so I haven’t exactly pushed the boundaries of the shoe. Regardless of what you end up with, be sure to do some stretching & foam roll bc that can contribute to foot pain as much if not more than your shoe.

I did the Pig in '23! Epic. I also wore normal shoes (Hoka Cliftons) and just embraced the wet, heavy shoes. I remember running out of Mariemont around mile 18 thinking "my feet are getting dry" only for it to start raining heavily 2 minutes later. This was before I embraced race shoes and I probably would have faired much better with my meshy Vapor Flys. My husband wore his Vapor Flys and is toes faired much better than mine.

I currently use HOKA Clifton’s for running but due to the tall heel stack, I use Brookes Adrenaline or Asics Kayanos for more high intensity workouts like Hyrox, circuits etc

I usually love my Hoka Clifton, but tried Brooks Glycerin 22. I’m happy with them so far!
