Most recent fulls Arizona I ran in Cielo X1 2.0 and I had maybe 20’miles before I did. Ottawa I ran in Rocket X2 and I had 75 miles on them Texas I ran in Rocket X2 and I had 10 miles on them Placid I ran in Rocket X1 and I had 25 miles on them I never out more than about 150-200 miles on a pair of carbon plated shoes. I’m also over 200 pounds, so my shoes are taking more of a beating than most. For Roth I’m thinking about Deviate 4 Elite since I don’t like my Rocket X3 and I’m not sure I like the Cielo x1 3.0 (although I’ve only done one 10 mile run in them so far). The why, is because I’m faster in them, which is why almost everyone should run in plated shoes. Which plated shoe is the challenge for most people. I’ve got about 6-8 plated shoes right now which is more money than most people want to spend trying things. I’ve got 15 pair of running shoes than are open and being tried/used. I like shoes though. A lot.
Hoka Rocket X3 or the Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 are probably most stable of the current carbon plated racers.
I find my Hoka Rocket X3s very comfortable a stability is pretty decent too for a lightweight race day shoe
I tried the Hoka Rocket X3 and absolutely love it! Comfortable, light, fast, bouncy, but stable!
I did my marathon training in MB and nearly ran my marathon in them but switched last minute (I know you aren’t supposed to do that) to Hoka Rocket X3s and they were great, ran 4:45.
I just ran a half marathon in these and they felt fine on my flat, wide feet. I will say the sizing seems to run about a half size small in the length. I am a size 11, and I think I should have gotten an 11.5. They are said to be fairly stable as far as super shoes go, though I haven't tried many others. They were springy as hell, and quite fun to run in. I did a lot of my speed training in endorphin speed 4's and they are light, have the plastic plate, and I had no issues with width. They seemed too firm for about 50km, but they softened up quite nicely, and I ended up running PR's in 5 and 10k in them during my training runs. I quite like them now, and they won't quite hurt your wallet as much.
Rocket X3, Endorphin Pro 4, SC Elitev5. There's not a true stability racer, but the geometry of those has worked well as being a bit more stable.
That's certainly fast enough for "super shoes". Not mentioned but one of the advantages of supershoes is that they are easier on your lower legs and feet and can help you maintain pace on a longer race. The problem is finding the right shoes. I'm a little faster than you and just love my Rocket x3s. More comfortable to run in than my normal training shoes
