Based on 1 year's data from Mar 23, 2026 How it works
I have the PB4 and I am a 2E. I usually go half a size up than my usual shoe size and they fit perfectly. I’d probably say Do-win fits me better than western brands.
I have the Li-Ning Challanger 5 and Elite 6 in half a size up and they work too.
Thanks for the review, good to see more of these getting attention in the running shoe space. Nice analysis and I agree with most of your points regarding the comparisons; now I'm actually curious because a lot of people like jogoncrago said they were very different from the 5 Elite. These are in my top 3 race shoes any distance (tied for 2nd with the Do-Win PB Pro behind the Fast R 3) but my first pick if I were to run a marathon tomorrow. The underfoot sensation is just incredible, like a more extreme responsive version of the Adios Pro 4.
I got the challenger 5 from Shein for £62. They are really great. My only issue is my left foot has a little heel lift and as there is no heel lock lace loops. I had to re-tie once during my run. Used them for an up-tempo interval run and track intervals so far. (I've heard the challenger 6 isn't a good upgrade!) I got the Feidian 6 elite for about £140 from ali express. I don't really know what to say other than WOW. Soft and very explosive, I managed to get them down to 2hr10min marathon pace pretty easily without breaking a sweat. Word of caution though they might be unstable on corners if you're not careful. My usual size is 10.5/11 UK, and chinese 46 was fine for both the lining shoes Unrelated but I also got the Dynablast Xiaonian for about £60 plus fees using a combination of buy&ship and Taobao. The step in feel is amazing, can't wait to take them out but waiting for drier weather as its been non-stop rain here for several weeks 😐 The largest size they had was 45 Chinese but they are a pretty big fit so fit my feet ok.
I have v6 on the way 👍
I like mine, considered them for a marathon but having done a 5k and 10k fartlek session in them yesterday I feel I won’t get the best out of them as they absolutely fly at the faster paces, and I’m not fast enough, the midsole doesn’t feel a soft to me as a lot of the reviewers make out, it compresses but like it’s under tension, like it’s always ready to explode. Quite a different feeling to anything else I’ve used. I think the endorphin elite and adi pro 4 are heaps softer. For foam properties/squish I’d say it feels similar to zoom x but with more resistance. I’m 86kg for reference.
Li Ning Feidian Elite 6! Reminds me of a lighter, very slightly softer Megablast with a carbon plate and even more pop and propulsion. They are insanely fast and fun shoes.
Taking mine out this weekend for a half marathon love them after only doing a 10km. The camber on the pavements here in the uk make it a bit dodge as it’s a really soft shoe but hoping the race at the weekend on the road should be fun. Will try a 1:30 for the half.
# Background Build: 6'3" / 95 kg / 26M. I don't consider myself "hybrid" but I do have a bulkier frame. Usual Size: US12.5 Weekly Mileage: 50-80 km/week / \~30-50 mi/week Foot Strike: Midfoot / shifts to heel later in longer races Current Ability: 5K 20:53 / 10K 45:56 / Half 2:00:19 (Hopefully will be greatly improved soon) / Full: not yet # Why I Bought It I already own the Li-Ning Feidian 5 Elite, and that felt great. Out of all the race shoes I tried in 2025, it was probably my second-fastest shoe, only behind the Puma Fast-R 3. That alone made me think it was worth trying the latest version. Another selling point was how many athletes ran personal bests in this shoe toward the end of 2025. The BOOM capsule concept is appealing, and I like the look of the shoe too. Only downside is I did not get the colorway I wanted (White with Gold Capsules) because it was not available in US12. # Fit Length/width: TTS/slightly roomy. Toe box: Roomy Sizing recommendation: True to size, or half size down for a snugger fit. Lockdown: Great with the BOOM fiber upper I took US12 since that was the max size available in China. Yes I picked those up on my China trip. Apparently they have larger sizes on Amazon now. Based on my experience with the 5 Elite, US12 worked well without toe pressure while still giving a snug fit. # Ride and Feel First impression: Bouncy and soft right away, and a bit softer than the previous version. Pace range: My easy pace is around 5:30/km(just under 9:00/mi). In this shoe, it naturally pulls me below 5:00/km(\~8:00/mi), even in warm-up or cool-down. It really shines from sub-4:30/km down to around 3:45/km, which is the fastest I tested. Propulsion and geometry: The BOOM capsule is clearly doing the work and adding propulsion. Geometry feels very similar to the 5 Elite overall. The "Fastest Curve" rocker is smooth but not super aggressive and rolls you forward well, especially when your toe-off gets weaker as you run. Compatibility: It works across heel strike, midfoot strike, and forefoot strike; balanced from front to back. Overall ride: Fun, bouncy, soft, and propulsive. # Durability I only have a few runs in this pair so far with mileage around 60 km, and I have not done any runs longer than a half marathon in them, so I cannot fully judge long distance performance yet. What I can say now: * Outsole wear is minimal so far. And based on my experience with the 5th version, it should be no problem at all. * Upper fit is snug and comfortable. Still tight and snug. I do have a fear about the BOOM capsule being poked by pebbles or sharp rocks on the road. (same fear with my Alphafly 3 and the Vomero premium, but safe so far) We will see how it holds up. # Usage Plan Primary use: speed workouts and races. I am still undecided about using plated shoes for long runs. Right now, the Megablast is still my go-to for long runs. I also have more race shoes than races signed up for next 12 months, so there are decisions to make on where this one fits by distance. # Comparison **Li-Ning Feidian 5 Elite** The difference is smaller than I expected, and the Feidian 5 Elite is still a very solid racer that gets overlooked. Weight and upper feel are almost the same, with no weight drop on the 6 Elite. The main change is the BOOM capsule feel: 6 Elite is a bit softer and bouncier, while 5 Elite stays firmer and snappier. **ASICS Metaspeed Sky Tokyo** Both are fun and both work well across different strike patterns. Metaspeed Sky Tokyo feels softer overall. I’d give a slight stability edge to the 6 Elite because Sky Tokyo’s platform is narrower. **Puma Fast-R 3** Puma Fast-R 3 is still my fastest race shoe, but it is much more aggressive and really rewards a strong forefoot toe-off. I have done up to half marathon in it, but I’m still unsure about taking it to a full marathon. Feidian 6 Elite is more forgiving if I fade to heel strike late, and it feels more stable and comfortable even if it is not as fast. (Don't get me wrong, it's still fast. Fast-R3 is just different.) **Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3/4 (DNE3/4)** I have not tested DNE4 yet(it's on the way), so this is mostly versus DNE3 for now. DNE3 feels firmer, lighter, and like a lower-risk race-day pick, while the Feidian 6 Elite is softer, bouncier, and more rockered with more cushion underfoot. Both are relatively stable and accommodating across foot strikes, but the 6 Elite wins on pure fun and bounce for me. # TL;DR * Li-Ning Feidian 6 Elite is a fun and relatively forgiving super shoe with strong bounce and smooth roll, especially when you want speed without an overly harsh ride. * Pros: Soft and bouncy, strong propulsion, wide usable pace range, stable for a race shoe, works with multiple foot strikes, and minimal early outsole wear. Overall a really balanced yet fun shoe. * Cons: Laces are average, could use slightly more friction. Also, I'm being picky here but the upgrade over Feidian 5 Elite is smaller than expected. In other words, I think the 5 Elite is really still worth a try if you get a good deal; I've seen them on Taobao for equivalent of \~70USD, or even under \~150USD on Aliexpress which is insane as it outperformed many of my 200USD+ racers last year. First time posting, feedbacks appreciated!!
I’ve done 3 runs in the 6 Elite and can confirm that it is a game changer. Stupidly bouncy but soft and protective at the same time. It’s great for everything except maybe recovery runs. It’s much bouncier than the Alphafly v1 and a really fun shoe to run in. Caveat being you must enjoy softer feeling shoes that sink in considerably before releasing energy while pushing off. If you like a faster or firmer response eg Adidas Pro 3 and Megablast, you might not like how this rides.
I absolutely adore this shoe. I’m going to use it for LAM this weekend. Through Taobao, the price is absurdly competitive (like 120-130$). Even at ‘full’ retail it’s still terrific stacked up against other shoes. I really wanna try the Ultra but it’s insane expensive 😂 At least for me, I found the DNE4 to feel flat and bland. I got almost zero propulsion out of it (though it does ‘disappear’ on foot due to light weight). It’s the polar opposite of this shoe. The only way I got mild propulsion was feeling like I was stomping the ground hard (and I’m 5’11 180lb).
